Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield RASAC

Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield RASAC We provide a women-only safe space where women identifying people can discuss their needs confidentially.

At RASAC we offer confidential support for people who've experienced r**e, sexual and domestic abuse.

You're not alone, we're here to support you. Here at RASAC; registered charity, No. 1013211, we offer support and advisory services for people of all genders, aged 13+, who have experienced r**e, sexual and domestic abuse, at any time

in their lives, living in Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield. RASAC identifies as a feminist organisation and we work within a feminist framework to readdress the gender and structural inequities that limit the lives of women identifying people. We understand there are many benefits to providing women only space, as this can impact on a woman’s well-being. An independent poll of 1,000 women across the UK found that 97% of those interviewed thought a female r**e victim should have the choice of accessing a women-only support service, therefore we will continue to maintain our women only spaces. Whilst we primarily focus on the needs of women; we recognise the social and psychological impact of men’s experiences as male identifying survivors and how this can compound their reluctance to disclose. Therefore we run a project on specific days that provides support service for males, aged 13 and over.

🚨Silence does not mean it didn’t happen.🚨

Often, it means a child was carrying fear, shame, trauma, confusion, or the belief that nobody would listen.

For many survivors, speaking about abuse can take years — sometimes decades. Some may never feel safe enough to speak at all.

⚠That is why breaking stigma matters.
⚠That is why survivor voices matter.
⚠That is why creating safe, trauma-informed spaces matters.

❌No child should suffer in silence.
❌No survivor should carry shame that was never theirs to hold. 🤍

We’re launching at the end of the month ✊

Survivor Leaders is a survivor-led movement raising awareness, amplifying women’s voices, challenging harmful narratives, and pushing for meaningful change across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Please invite your friends, follow our journey, and help us spread the message far and wide. Awareness creates change — and change starts with conversation.

Whether people realise it or not, most know someone affected by s3xual vi0lence, ab*se, or exploitation.

This is why survivor voices matter.
This is why awareness matters.
This is why we speak up. 🤍

Being at home doesn't guarantee protection from sexual violence and abuse, unfortunately.

Telling women not to walk home by themselves late at night won't magically erase all possibility of sexual assault.

In fact, it's not uncommon for women to have been r**ed while taking a taxi home. Or to be subjected to r**e in their own home, and often by someone they know.

It's high time society focused on those who perpetrate these acts of violence, hold them accountable for their actions, and deliver swift criminal justice for those who survived them, and those who did not.

R**e culture is the culprit, and we demand an end to it.

Are you with us? 💜
