You're not alone, we're here to support you. Here at RASAC; registered charity, No. 1013211, we offer support and advisory services for people of all genders, aged 13+, who have experienced r**e, sexual and domestic abuse, at any time

in their lives, living in Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield. RASAC identifies as a feminist organisation and we work within a feminist framework to readdress the gender and structural inequities that limit the lives of women identifying people. We understand there are many benefits to providing women only space, as this can impact on a woman’s well-being. An independent poll of 1,000 women across the UK found that 97% of those interviewed thought a female r**e victim should have the choice of accessing a women-only support service, therefore we will continue to maintain our women only spaces. Whilst we primarily focus on the needs of women; we recognise the social and psychological impact of men’s experiences as male identifying survivors and how this can compound their reluctance to disclose. Therefore we run a project on specific days that provides support service for males, aged 13 and over.

For too long, survivors have been told—implicitly or explicitly—that speaking up makes people uncomfortable. That detailing the truth is "too much," "too complex," or "too difficult to hear."

Here is the truth: Our silence was never meant to protect us. It was meant to protect the comfort of others.

We are done staying quiet to keep the peace. Truth isn't always neat, and real change doesn't happen when we stay polite about systemic failure. We are taking up space, raising our voices, and demanding accountability.

Speak your truth. Take up space. ✊

This is why being believed matters!!

🚨"About one-quarter of survivors said they were abused by a friend or acquaintance of themselves or their family."

🚨"Nearly 1 in 10 were abused by a parent or parent's partner."

🚨"Around 1 in 6 were abused by another family member."

🚨"Nearly 1 in 10 were abused by someone in a position of trust or authority (such as a teacher, coach, religious leader or care worker)."

For many survivors, getting to today may have meant overcoming huge challenges that others may never see.

Whatever may be on that piece of paper today, please remember that your worth cannot be measured by grades. Be kind to yourself; results are one moment in your story, not the whole story.

We see your courage and believe in your amazing potential ✨
