Lawrence Benson is back at Honley library again! This time will be a talk about the Tuskegee Airmen, a talented and courageous team of African American fighter pilots who fought in the second world war. Come learn about these men and their impact on the Civil Rights movement at Honley Library on the 16th of June.

This week at Honley Library:

This is our last week open before we close for the extension.

Tuesday: The Tuskegee Airmen. 7pm
Wednesday: Monthly Digital Drop In. 10.00-12. Get your IT, computing, laptop or mobile phone questions answered by our expert Chris. Free advice to help you feel confident around digital technology.

Also our regular events include:
Tuesday - Knit and Natter 1.30-2.30pm
Friday - Babies into Books 10.00-11.00am
Saturday - Lego Club and Crafts 10am-12

Honley Library will be closed for two months as part of the extension, renovation and changing the skylights in the main building.

We are open for one more week, closing a week today and reopening in late August (dates to be confirmed nearer the time).

So pop in, drop off your read books, pick up a pile of new ones and we shall keep you updated as things progress.

Honley library will be closed from Monday 22nd June for the building work to break through into the existing space. Final open day is Saturday 20th June, so please collect your books and take out loans to keep you occupied and entertained.

*Update*

The library closure is now likely to last until late August. During that time we will also be changing the skylights in the existing building which is quite an involved (and scaffolding heavy) job.

Whilst that's a longer closure than expected, the end result will be a much brighter, warmer, more welcoming library for us all.

You've got time to order books and ensure you've enough reading material to keep you going, so pop in now and borrow some adventures.

Reminder!
There will be no babies into books this week (12th June) due to volunteer commitments.
We will be back on Friday 19th June.
Due to the library building work, this will be our last session until the library re-opens.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY....

*Saturday 20th June* will be the last open day at Honley Library for an unspecified time, whilst the building work breaks through into the existing space. We will be closed from Monday June 22nd 2026 until we are ready to welcome you back.

There will be alot of cleaning and restocking to do after the building is ready from a construction point of view, so please bare with our fabulous team of volunteers (who have worked tirelessly for over three years to raise the funds, write bids, host fundraising events to get us this far).

Keep an eye out for updates. During the closure, you will not be able to order books to be collected at Honley.

We will keep you all updated using posters, email and social media (and a Town Crier if I could find one).
