Gentle Exercise has a new home!
Previously held at Mixenden Activity Centre - MAC, the class has now moved to the Kevin Pearce Family Hub and Nursery (Annexe), Ovenden Road, HX3 5RQ.

Join the group every Monday, 9.45am–11.30am for gentle exercise, connection and support.
A suggested donation of £2 is welcome. Staying Well support is also available at the session.

Our last Community Kitchen at MAC ❤️.

There was a real mix of emotions at our final Community Kitchen - sadness at saying goodbye, lots of memories shared, and a real sense of how much this place means to the people who attend the Mixenden Activity Centre - MAC.

Around the tables, people spoke about the friendships they’ve made, the support they’ve found and the simple but important things that have brought them together over the years: sharing a meal, having a chat and feeling welcome.

We asked people what MAC means to them, and their words speak for themselves in this video.
To everyone who has joined us around the table, volunteered, supported the Kitchen or helped make MAC feel like a community - including of course Leeds GATE, thank you. You’ve made these moments matter, and we’re incredibly grateful to have been part of them.

💛 BABY WEEK CALDERDALE - WHAT'S COMING UP? 👶📚

There’s lots happening across Calderdale for Baby Week, from fun activities for families and little ones to opportunities for professionals and volunteers to come together and celebrate the importance of early childhood development!

Here are just some of the highlights from the programme, delivered by North Halifax Partnership through our Family Hubs and in partnership with local organisations:

🎨 Friday 20 November – Head to Eureka! for Baby and Toddler Day, with opportunities for little ones to explore, play and discover.

From stories and songs to sensory experiences and family activities, Baby Week is all about celebrating the little moments that make a big difference. Chatting, playing and reading together help babies grow, learn and build strong connections from the very beginning. 💕

🎉 MIXY Youth Bash - what a journey! What will you miss most?

From skateboarding, scooters and creative activities to hot chocolate, friendships and plenty of messing about, MIXY Youth Bash at Mixenden Activity Centre - MAC has given local young people a place to be themselves, try new things and make memories.

Over 30 sessions:
📊 188 young people registered
🙌 More than 1,600 attendances
📍 93% of registrations came from the local HX2 postcode area

But the MAC has always been about more than the numbers. It’s been a place to belong, make friends, get creative and have fun in a safe, welcoming space.

To all the young people and families who have been part of MIXY Youth Bash, thank you for helping make it so special. And a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.

We’ll miss the laughs, the energy and the memories. It wouldn't have been MIXY Youth Bash without you all! ❤️
