Carpets Like a Boss

Brilliant community event in Rastrick

Thank you so much to everyone who came to my community drop-in at The Space at Field Lane yesterday. It was a great turn-out and especially good to be able to create an opportunity for residents to talk directly with organisations including West Yorkshire Police - Calderdale Valleys and Together Housing. Special thanks to the brilliant team from Noah's Ark Centre charity who joined us for the first time to provide money advice and information about their free carpet and white goods schemes. They're currently fundraising and Aviva have promised to match all donations. I'll put a link in the comments in case anyone is able to support their important work.

I'd like to host more of these kind of events, let me know if you'd find it useful to have one in your area.

On the 24th October, Mush, The Pink Running Man, will be running a marathon to raise funds for Noah's Arks Money Advice Project. Every donation will be match funded by the Aviva Foundation, meaning £10 becomes £20, £100 becomes £200 and if you're able to Gift Aid your donation it will add another 25% on top!

The donation link is below and goes live at 9am tomorrow morning. Give Mush a beep when you see him and please share our post.

A charity in Halifax is hoping the Calderdale public will show their support to their fundraising campaign and ensure the help they provide people in need continues.

Today was the first session of our award winning Budget Like a Boss!!!! financial capability course. We had 18 learners with us today (some were a bit camera shy!).

Our thanks to Calderdale Adult Learning and Calderdale Council for funding our courses. Learning how to budget is a valuable skill and Noah’s Ark is at the forefront of improving the financial skills of residents.

Just so you know that’s not a miss-type: 18 learners today. Others talk the talk but we walk the walk! Deeds not words!
