We were delighted to welcome Councillor Vanessa King of Guildford to THE LAB22.
Her visit represents another meaningful moment of support for our STEM charity and for the work we are delivering to children across our community.

Councillor King explored our space, met our team, and learned more about how our STEM programmes are opening doors for primary schools. These visits are incredibly important for THE LAB22. They allow us to demonstrate the quality, care and impact behind every activity we run, and they help us show how our work benefits Guildford’s families and schools.

Community engagement strengthens our mission. With leaders like Councillor King recognising the value of accessible science education, we can expand our reach and bring hands-on learning to even more children. Every partnership, every conversation and every visit helps us build a future where curiosity and opportunity go hand in hand.

Maple Class - Send CofE Primary School closed our 2026 STEM workshops for the year with the perfect mix of curiosity, teamwork and contagious enthusiasm. Every challenge was met with creativity, every idea was shared with confidence, and every moment reminded us why this programme matters so much. 🚀

Ending the LAB22 year with such an incredible group makes us even more excited for what’s coming next.

🧡💜 Let's do another one...what a fantastic STEM workshop completed. This time, with the Pine Class from Weyfield Primary Academy!

🚀 We loved watching pupils collaborate, experiment and celebrate each step of the journey. Their enthusiasm filled our space and made every activity even more enjoyable. Pine Class, it was a joy to have them with us.

And before heading back to school, they surprised our team with a thoughtful card, a delicious cake, and biscuits (prepared by the teacher) personalised with our logo 🧡💜. What a kind gesture, thank you, Pine Class, for ending the day with such warmth.

What a fantastic time we've had with Cedar Class from Send CofE Primary School!

From the moment the workshop began, the classroom was buzzing with excitement. Every challenge was met with enthusiasm, every idea was worth sharing, and every success was celebrated together. That's exactly what STEM is all about! 🚀

EASTER CAMP 2026 – The Physics of Music 🎼

What a fantastic three days filled with music, discovery, and fun!
Our young musicians dived into the world of sound, exploring how it travels and how we can create it in different ways.

Step by step, they built their very own ukulele, a cheerful instrument with roots in Hawaiian culture and a wonderfully uplifting sound.

Each day revealed a new piece of the puzzle, and excitement grew as their instruments slowly came together.

By the final day, it was time to tune up… and then the real fun began! The room filled with music, smiles, and a brilliant sense of achievement as everyone played together.

A truly joyful experience from start to finish!

They also left with their very own personalised ukuleles, with their names engraved using our laser printer.
