The Beavers’ adventure at Alver Valley tonight was packed with discovery, imagination, and a little friendly competition!

🦋 Nature scavenger hunt challenges
⏳ Imagining what the valley looked like 100 years ago
🦫 Teamwork building our very own beaver dam
🍃 The hunt for the biggest leaf (with some surprisingly strong contenders!)

From exploring wildlife to stepping back in time, every corner of the valley sparked curiosity and creativity. The best adventures are the ones that get us outdoors, working together, and seeing nature in a whole new way.

Last night, some of our very lucky Beavers had a fantastic time pond dipping! 🦫🌿💦

They discovered lots of amazing creatures living beneath the water, including water boatmen, dragonfly larvae, and many more fascinating pond inhabitants.

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Swanwick Lakes for teaching us all about the pond ecosystem and helping us identify everything we found. It was a brilliant evening of exploring, learning, and getting close to nature! 🐉🪲🌱

This week the squirrels learned about food and where it comes from. We identified different food producing countries on the map. Then we made dampers and cooked them over an open fire. They were delicious dipped in jam and biscoff

The last 2 nights the Scouts have been learning about knife, axe and saw.

They also practiced how to make a fire using flint and steel.

The encouragement in this peer to peer setting was amazing with the groups and this really helps build confidence.

Older scouts were helping the younger ones and scubs how to use the equipment to not only show but further skills.
BRAVO everyone!!
