EmploYOU helps people aged 16+ with learning disabilities in Dorset build the confidence, skills, and independence needed to take the next step towards a brighter future.

✅ Lacking confidence and need extra support
✅ Wanting help to succeed and stay in work

We're here to help every step of the way.

Our person-centred support includes:

- CV writing and job application support
- Interview preparation and mock interviews
- Help finding training and learning opportunities
- Job coaching and workplace support
- Access to Work application support
- Ongoing support for up to six months after starting employment

We've helped people secure placements and opportunities with organisations including Royal Mail, Dorset Council, RSPCA, Dorset Air Ambulance, Co-op, British Heart Foundation, Carnival UK, Southampton University, and many more.

Every individual receives a tailored Vocational Profile, Progression Plan, and SMART Action Plan, designed around their personal goals and ambitions.

Referrals are made through Dorset Council, who will guide you through the process and help you access the right support.

Over the past 40+ years, YOU has grown into a leading charity supporting people across the South of England to live safe, independent, and healthy lives. Our services span a broad range of areas. These include domestic abuse and stalking support, advice services, learning disability and mental health support, health and wellbeing programmes, and specialist training.

Our growth and success have been guided by an exceptional Board of Trustees. These dedicated volunteers bring passion, expertise, and a shared commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. They play a vital role in ensuring the charity remains focused on its mission, values, and future development.

We are currently seeking new Trustees to join our Board. Could this be you?

Becoming a Trustee is both rewarding and enriching. It offers an opportunity to contribute your skills and experience while developing new ones while working alongside a diverse group of talented and committed individuals. Most importantly, it gives you the chance to help create meaningful change for the people and communities we serve.

Our Board brings together people with a range of professional expertise and lived experiences, all united by a commitment to advancing our charitable ambitions. Trustees attend around ten Board meetings each year and have opportunities to visit services, attend events, and hear directly from clients and families about the impact of our work.

This is an exciting time to join YOU. As we look ahead to the next five years, we are focused on delivering our strategic vision, building on our achievements, including our Outstanding CQC rating for caring, and continuing to provide the highest-quality services for those who rely on us.

Are you able to help? We're looking to acquire around 6 tons of woodchip for our sensory garden in Darlington road, Basingstoke. The garden will be for our clients who have learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. It adds to the richness of their daily lives, making them happier and more fulfilled.

Our residents from Serpentine, Peter, Mark and Ross, attended this fantastic event with support from our wonderful staff, Denise and Basi.

It was an incredible day, and best of all, it was completely free! Everyone had such a great time, and as you can see from the photos, there were plenty of smiles and lots of fun throughout the day.

Denise and Basi said they thoroughly enjoyed supporting the residents and being part of such a fantastic event.

A huge thank you to Emsworth Sports & Social Club and everyone involved in making the day so special. We can't wait for the next one! 😊🎉
