👏 We'd like to call for a big round of applause for our Community Spirit members who raised £1200 for local children living in temporary accommodation in Gosport to go out on days out this summer to places like Marwell Zoo! 👏

Smashing our target of ÂŁ500, it's an amazing effort from the team, who all made it through the full fundraising walk, even with some difficulties. We're more than proud of them.

Their consistent volunteering activities make such a difference to our local area and we're always excited to see what they do next.

Volunteers’ Week 2026 – Volunteer Spotlight: Ann and Gosport Healthy Walks

This , we are celebrating Ann, a volunteer walk leader for Community First's Gosport Healthy Walks programme.

Volunteers’ Week 2026 – Volunteer Spotlight: Fred and Lee Rangers YFC

Fred is a 15-year-old volunteer making a real difference through football volunteering. What started as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award has turned into two years of supporting Under-9s coaching sessions, helping younger players build confidence and develop their skills.

“It makes me feel good as you’re helping younger children to play sport.”

Through volunteering, he has grown in confidence and developed valuable teamwork, communication and leadership skills. One of his proudest moments was encouraging a child to get involved in football sessions and watching their confidence grow over time.

When asked what he’d say to others thinking about volunteering, Fred kept it simple:
“Do it.”
