SHOUT OUT TO THE YOUTH PANEL | Big thanks to the SSF Youth Panel for giving their time to help shape SSF's work. This group always brings the passion and ideas to make their communities and the lives of young people better. Last week members of the panel came together to talk about issues that are currently affecting young people, Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and the opportunities it will bring, the importance of diverse perspectives, safe debating and an exciting new project. Huge thanks to Vicky Ledgerwood for leading an amazing workshop on gender-based violence and peer education. What a team.

VACANCIES | We're seeking 3 youth workers to be based at our multi-sport Twilight sessions in Glasgow (Dalmarnock / Barrowfield / Parkhead).

Our youth workers will be responsible for leading community youth work in a physical activity setting, building trusted, consistent relationships with young people, creating safe and inclusive spaces. You will deliver youth work content that supports young people's issues in their community, their personal development, well-being, and leadership skills, ensuring their voice, choice and lived-experience are central to all sessions.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you. Details at www.ssf.org.uk/vacancies

INNOVATION AND GENEROSITY | The incredible students at University of the West of Scotland Sport Management and Enterprise Module took on our Tenner to Tons entrepreneurial challenge to take ÂŁ10 and turn it into much more using creative and commercial means.

Every group in this cohort rose to the challenge, the winning group set up a car wash enterprise: offering cleaning for vehicle exteriors and interiors and really considered their social impact, branding themselves as a social enterprise. Overall the students raised an incredible ÂŁ941 taking their total over the past 3 years to ÂŁ3011 to help us on our mission to transform young lives through sport. Which is truly amazing!

If you or your friends would like to get involved with our tenner to tons challenge you can email us at [email protected]

THROWBACK TO BERLIN | Back in February a group of SSF young people travelled to Berlin to learn about the rise of hate in 1930s/40s Germany. They teamed up with young people from St Paul's Youth Forum & Smithycroft Secondary School and got the opportunity to work with Heroes Berlin an organisation committed to gender equality. This was an incredible opportunity to learn from history, meet new friends and travel internationally. They visited a WW2 bunker, the Berlin Wall and other landmarks across the city.

"Meeting the people at Heroes was really interesting as it taught me how people can have so many different opinions about the same thing..."

"Seeing the Brandenburg Gate was amazing and totally surreal."

Well done to all the young people involved, many of whom were travelling abroad for the first time and really pushing themselves to try new experiences and learn new things.

THANK YOU to the amazing team at for taking on the Kiltwalk for SSF! We caught up with them to find out why they are putting themselves through this epic challenge!

Why did you choose to do the Kiltwalk for SSF?

We’ve been supporting SSF as our corporate partner in the Glasgow office of Weightmans for 2 years now. We hugely admire the work SSF do and are always looking for fundraising opportunities to support them. The Kiltwalk is the perfect opportunity for us to get our fitness levels up whilst spreading awareness for SSF and the brilliant work they do for young people.

What is it about SSF that makes you want to support them?

The work SSF does is invaluable for local communities near us in Glasgow. We’ve heard first hand how they’ve championed young people and helped them to reach their full potential and achieve amazing things. The testimonies from those who SSF have supported are inspiring so we’re keen to do anything we can to help them out.

What are you most looking forward to?

A long walk (hopefully in the sun!) with colleagues having plenty time to catch up and connect in amongst the atmosphere of the event.

What are your top tips for finishing the epic walk?

Good chat, plenty of snacks and comfy shoes!

GOOD luck team!
