We just want to take a moment to say thank you for an absolutely smashing day of history on Saturday! Our Community Development Officer, Andy is having a well earned cuppa.

First of all, thank you to yourselves for coming along and sharing so many great stories with us.

And then to the Roystonhill Community Hub for hosting us, the Hub on the Hill Cafe for feeding us and the Glasgow Chinese School Multicultural Centre for also feeding and teaching us!

And a well done to our two raffle winners who each won £50 vouchers.

If you want to hear about the Ironworks explosion, the mill girls' strike, the Hi**er of the Garngad, how often medieval people washed and the bubonic plague - then this is the talk for you! Of course you want to hear about pustules and boils while you eat pakora and a sausage roll.

Our history talk is back for another year at the Roystonhill Community Hub! We've got two sessions on Saturday the 19th of September between 10am and 2pm.

The talk is completely free to attend, we've got free food, free tea and coffee, exhibitions, and our friends at the Glasgow Chinese School Multicultural Centre will be running workshops with us at the Hub!

Can anyone help us track down the owner of this card? It was found outside our unit at Unit W6/16 141 Charles Street.

For collection: our Community Development Officer Andy will be here until 5:30pm tonight (Friday), otherwise, we reopen at 8:30am on Monday.

Just a very normal morning sanding some interesting graffiti from our benches at Garngad Gardens. A mixture of inscrutable scribbles, human appendages and "Cillian 4 Harper" which was already scribbled over.

We don't know who Cillian and Harper are, but our Community Development Officer Andy says: "It seems your love didn't last, and neither did your graffiti."

Our community deserves better than graffiti, better then Sharpie'd nonsense and better than cans of whatever "Liquid Death" is shoved into hedges and we'll keep doing whatever we can to prove that.

Our hit history talk, The Good & The Bad: A History of the Garngad is back for another year! Join us on Saturday the 19th of September. You can book your space at the link below: It's completely free, comes with food, tea and coffee, and a smashing time delivered by our Community Development Officer, and award winning Historian Andrew Cuthbertson.

There are two sessions, one at 10am and one at 12pm, and this year we've got even more stories for you. We'll introduce you to a travelling salesman and former constable who defrauded the community. We'll talk about how a community mourned, grieved and came together after an Industrial disaster in 1880. And hear about how the people of Glasgow rallied behind the women of the Garngad Cottonworks when they said "enough is enough", while the Lord Provost and the city's press attempted to discredit them.
