New Lighting for Alexandra Park 💡

Delighted that we approved £150,000 from the SNP Glasgow City Council Neighbourhood infrastructure fund to install new lighting along the main pathway through Alexandra Park to improve safety for people who use the park. We also approved £120,000 to improve play equipment and other improvements of Glenconnor Park and £50,000 to the play area at Abernathy Street. In the last year over £500,000 has been approved for various projects across the ward.

This week at Dennistoun Area Partnership, we allocated £120,000 to Glenconner Park, to do better landscaping, benches, and an outdoor gym area 💚

There is also a community survey live now, asking for feedback on how to improve the play area - survey closes 16th March! 🛝

We had a few little helpers out cleaning Garngad Gardens yesterday. After an afternoon out enjoying the park, they borrowed some litter pickers and managed to fill a few bags.

We’re a community that cares about each other, that supports each other and one that’s proud of the hard work being done by our children and the whole community.

Aaaand the Christmas lights are up on Royston Road. We’d like to say a huge well done to Fanta at Royston Primary School, whose roar-some design won this year’s Christmas Competition. Her design, featuring a T-Rex decorating a Christmas tree, will be part of the Christmas lights on Royston Road for years to come thanks to our Community Benefit Fund which pays for the lighting on Royston Road every year and supports organisations across Royston to deliver amazing work in the community.
