With Kids is delighted to announce it has been awarded funding from the Glasgow 2026 Festival Fund to deliver a vibrant summer programme in Glasgow’s East End as part of the wider Commonwealth Games community celebrations.
Commonwealth Cultures: Dance, Music & Stories Across the Continents will bring the whole community together in a celebration of creativity and culture. Featuring performances, storytelling, music and opportunities to share traditional dress and crafts, the programme will be a colourful celebration of the rich cultural tapestry already present in Glasgow’s East End.
Children, parents and grandparents will take part together, creating shared experiences that strengthen relationships and foster a sense of pride and belonging. Workshops will take place in drama, world music and storytelling, offering an engaging and inclusive space where families can connect and explore rhythm, movement, narrative and craft.
The summer programme will come together in a joyful finale with our Commonwealth Carnival of Play on the National Day for Play on 5th August 2026 bringing the whole community together in a celebration of creativity and culture.
Gwen Galbraith, CEO of With Kids, added:
“As Glasgow welcomes the Commonwealth Games in 2026, this programme gives our community a meaningful way to be part of it. When families come together to share stories, music and traditions, it builds understanding, connection and a real sense of belonging.”
With Kids is proud to contribute to a more inclusive, connected and culturally vibrant Glasgow, ensuring that every family has the chance to take part, create and celebrate. Free and open to all, it offers a welcoming space for families to join the festivities in a community‑centred celebration.
