This rescue was set up to help the plight of pound dogs, these are dogs that are on 'death row' in UK pounds. This includes dogs that have been abandoned, surrendered or left to stray. Some have only 7 days to be reclaimed by their owners. If they are not, they are put to sleep. The enormous number of dogs, mainly staffies

on 'put to sleep lists' lead us to want to help these unfortunate family pets. Few people realise that many healthy dogs, through no fault of their own, are being destroyed if not claimed within the week. The name poundies
Poundies are dogs that are abused, dumped, abandoned; unwanted souls that find themselves with 7 days to live in, generally, appalling conditions. Named ‘poundies’ as these conditions are council pounds across the UK that are ‘home’ to these dogs awaiting their death. Many people are under the impression that a dog must be "bad" in some way to end up being dumped and in a council pound; have a look at the photos and updates of some of our available pound dogs in their foster homes and of our own dogs most of the volunteers that help this rescue have pound dogs living in their homes - proof that this is not always the case.

Welcome to Staffie Smiles, Rose 🌹

This wee pocket rocket is Rose, a Staffie cross of around 3 years old. She may be little, but she more than makes up for it with her big personality!

Rose is a fun-loving, energetic girl who will thrive with clear boundaries, routine, and guidance. She would be best suited to a bully breed experienced home that understands her needs and can help her be the best version of herself.

While Rose is dog friendly, she can be a little full-on due to her enthusiasm and energy, so we feel she would be happiest as the only pet in the home where she can soak up all the attention.

Rose loves her walks and enjoys being out and about exploring the world. We're still getting to know this lovely girl and will share more updates soon.

Fay has been enjoying a trip to the secure field & snooze this weekend 🐶

Fay is still very young and puppy-like, Fay loves to zoom around and gets excited when she sees other dogs. She’s such a sweet, happy girl with so much love to give.

Fay is starting to settling in well into her foster home, she can be over excited but with routine she is starting to calm down in the home.

Meet Marley Moo 🩷

This gorgeous girl has joined us from the pound. Marley is a quiet wee soul who has heartbreakingly been bred from multiple times in her short life.

Despite everything she's been through, Marley is such a sweet girl with a lovely temperament. She has tested dog-friendly with a variety of dogs so far, and we will continue carrying out our own assessments while she settles into rescue.

We're looking forward to getting to know Marley better and will share further updates on our socials soon.
