When a dehydrated lethargic and puffed up "gerbil" gets rushed into out of hours... safe to say this is a wild mouse and of course the vets didnt put her to sleep... we re-hydrated her..fed her.. kept her warm and check out the comments for the result.

Thank you to everyone who donated towards the bill - a cheeky wee Β£800 so every bit has helped! I'll post payment proof once its gone through.

After speaking to quite a few veterinary professionals and a lot of debating, Hope is now booked in to have her leg amputated. β™‘ She copes very well with her shortened leg but doesn't often use it, especially outside. After looking into prosthetics/boots and other ideas, its in her best interests and for an ongoing pain free life to be a tri-pod. πŸ•

I really would like to thank everyone who has helped me with her during her healing journey, from advice to hands on care everyone has been very kind! β™‘

I dont normally ask but this procedure is going to cost between 600-700 and if anyone is able to donate towards Hope it would be much appreciated. I've already had some donations towards Hope resulting in Β£100 towards her surgery, and this is so appreciated, thank you! πŸ€—

Just the most gorgeous puppy! What a joy having her spend christmas... all 3.5 limbs! Looking at speaking to the vets after christmas to decide on whether a full leg amputation is needed but she is managing missing a paw for now. We have been very up and down over the last few weeks on the best course of action and its all been dependant on how Hope progresses through all her puppy stages.

When your not sure you want to hand rear anymore and this little one needs help β™‘

Hope sadly had an injury when being born - a surprisingly commen issue during whelping. This has meant she needs regular wound care alongside being hand reared. At first it was believed she would lose her paw or succumb to infection but we are now a week and a half along and she's doing so well. Will take things week by week with her paw but for now she's thriving β™‘

A bit of a late update on Nimbus - we have now reached the 1yr mark β™‘ and his cleft has closed over even more from puppyhood with no issues being caused. This amazes me as surgically he could have had his corrected at 16weeks old but it's changed even more as he's grown - so many vets rushing to close over clefts at very very young ages with very little experience or studies to back the reasoning. Open managment can be so successful and it's a shame that this is not appreciated in the veterinary or breeding world. Thanks to some advocates in the vet field and rescuers and breeders raising awareness this condition is slowly being more recognised and more care given to pups rather than letting them die slowly at home or having them put to sleep because of fear of "future" complications.

Nimbus had his heart checkup to with a specialist and although that situation has not improved with his growth I'm glad to say it's not significantly worse! He is still living life to the full and we are so grateful he came into our lives and hopefully we can enjoy his company for many more years to come.

Some pictures from our mad member of the family β™‘

Folly has his new home!! At last this lovely little stinker gets a place to call his own. For so many reasons we will miss you little one but also we are not the right place for you. I'm so excited for his new adventure β™‘ huge huge thanks to The Underheugh Ark Rescue for helping me place him. These guys are so so busy and if anyone has some spare pennies to donate in Follys name I'm sure it would be appreciated :-)
