Do you provide care for someone as well as being a student?

Student carers may be able to get financial support if they are providing emotional, mental or physical support to someone they know who gets a disability benefit. Social Security Scotland has three payments available for unpaid carers including many of those who study alongside their caring duties.

💛 Young Carer Grant - a yearly payment of more than £400 for young carers aged 16, 17 or 18 years old.
💚 Carer Support Payment - help for people who spend over 35 hours per week caring for someone.
🩵 Carer's Allowance Supplement - an extra payment paid twice a year to people in Scotland who get Carer Support Payment.
