The Edinburgh International Children's Festival is in full swing this week in Edinburgh and today Catherine Wheels are performing THREE shows as part of the festival.

In Granton, school children and delegates will be treated to performance in their school of Lightning Ridge, young ones will be charmed by In Time at the Traverse Theatre, and older children will be wowed by the spectacular The Unlikely Friendship of Feather Boy and Te****le Girl at Assembly Roxy.

We're incredibly proud to be bringing such brilliant work to this year's festival, and to be working with inspiring artists, partners and teams on all three productions.

And the Catherine Wheels team will be having a lie down next week!

Lovely to see the East Lothian town of East Linton recognised as one of Scotland’s best places to live. We’re proud that our 2022 community project East Linton Voices received a mention in this The Times and The Sunday Times article, highlighting its contribution to the village’s creative life.

It’s always a joy to make work in our home county of East Lothian.

Listen up! MAKE SPACE 2026 - ONE MONTH TO APPLY.

Make Space is our artist development programme supporting new work for young audiences. Since launching in 2020, we’ve supported 15 artists across three editions to explore bold, imaginative ideas for children’s theatre - and we’re excited to continue this with a fourth round in 2026.

We’re offering funding for two artists or collectives to develop new ideas for young audiences. This is not about creating a finished piece, but about giving you the time and space to explore, experiment, and shape how and where your work could exist.

Deadline: 11am Monday 18 May 2026
Project runs: Sep 2026 – Mar 2027

At least one selected artist will be from an under-represented background.

Help us spread the word and share this post.
