We are now offering new affordable home ownership opportunities in both Inverness and Perthshire, with our new shared equity homes, being delivered as part of two energy-efficient housing developments. 🏠

The new homes form part of wider developments delivering 50 high-quality affordable properties across the two locations, including homes for social rent and shared equity purchase opportunities designed to help more people access home ownership.

In Inverness, six shared equity homes are being delivered at the new Easterfield development on the south-eastern outskirts of the city, alongside 22 homes for social rent. In Perthshire, five shared equity family homes are now available at the Mill Street development in Stanley, near Perth, which also includes 17 homes for social rent.

Tenants in Dundee gathered last week to celebrate the unveiling of new community artwork at Weavers Yard, marking the next chapter in the story of Upper Dens. 🎨 🤝

The new artwork, created by local artist Abi Baikie, has been shaped by the voices of residents and reflects the rich history and evolving identity of the area. It was officially unveiled at a community event on Saturday 9 May, attended by tenants, partners and local stakeholders.

The project has brought together Hillcrest and Caledonia Housing Association, working in partnership with the Stobswell Forum, to refresh three artwork panels at the entrance to the development.

This Dementia Action Week, we’re helping raise awareness of the Herbert Protocol – a simple initiative designed to support people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s who may be at risk of going missing.

The Herbert Protocol encourages families, carers or friends to complete a form containing important information about a loved one, including:

🧩 Routines and habits
📍 Favourite places
👥 Important contacts
💙 Likes, dislikes and medical information

If someone goes missing, this information can help the police respond quickly and effectively.
Officers recently visited tenants at our retirement scheme in Bridge of Earn to share information about the initiative and encourage residents and families to consider completing a form.

You can find out more about the Herbert Protocol here: https://www.scotland.police.uk/what-s-happening/missing-persons/the-herbert-protocol/

New public artwork unveiled at Weaver's Yard 🎨

On Saturday, we celebrated the completion of a new public artwork at Weavers Yard in Dundee with a community event, bringing together local tenants as part of a partnership between Caledonia Housing Association, Hillcrest FB and Stobswell Forum SCIO, Dundee.

The new artwork, created by local artist Abi Baikie, has been shaped by the voices of residents and reflects the rich history and evolving identity of the Upper Dens area.

Residents played a central role in shaping the designs. Through a community consultation based on the theme “Past, Present and Future,” tenants helped select the final artist from a shortlist of three, ensuring the artwork reflects both the heritage of the site and the people who live there today.

Julie Cosgrove, Chief Executive of Caledonia Housing Association, said: “This project is a fantastic example of the impact that can be achieved through partnership working and meaningful community engagement. By working closely with Hillcrest Homes, Stobswell Forum and local tenants, we have created something that not only celebrates the history of Upper Dens but also reflects the people and community who live here today.

“The artwork has been shaped by local voices from the very beginning, helping to create a strong sense of identity, pride and connection within the community. We are delighted to have supported a project that brings people together while celebrating both the heritage and future of the area.”

We celebrated the 100th birthday of one of our tenants, Ella McKellican, last week at our Monifieth Retirement Scheme. 🎉🎂

Ella marked her big day with a card from Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, alongside flowers and cards from the Depute Provost, Jill Scott, and Lord Lieutenant Pat Sawers from Angus Council. Her neighbours also presented Ella with gifts, flowers and a card which Margaret Measures, Scheme Manager kindly handed over on their behalf.

Cheryl Connelly, Neighbourhood Officer shared: "Family and friends gathered in the communal lounge, where Ella’s daughter shared a poem about her mum’s 100 years, and everyone enjoyed a buffet, birthday cake, a toast and music thereafter. Ella’s daughter arranged for boxes of goodies to be handed out to all tenants so they could be part of the celebrations. I asked Ella what her secret was, and she advised, ‘just getting on with life and keeping busy!’"

A huge congratulations to Ella on this incredible milestone. 💐
