In July 2019, Paul Dempsey was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bowel cancer and suddenly passed due to the illness.

Paul was adored by all of his family and friends and was a prominent figure within the family. He introduced football to everyone around him as it played such a big part in his life and brought so many memories (the good and bad) and joy to him, also rubbing off on others around him. So what better way to raise awareness and pay tribute so such a great man, than to host a football match in his hon

our, between his family and friends with local charities benefiting also. The idea was initially for this to take place last year but lockdown got in the way and forced postponement after postponement, but finally, here we are ! The Hosts...

Dundee East Community Sports Club are a charity based at the Quest Precision Engineering Arena. They encourage participation in sport and nurture community based activities in Dundee East by encouraging all sporting activities and provide facilities for community development and encouraging community participation through volunteering. Their football facilities are used by member teams - Broughty United, Douglas Youth, Ferry Athletic and Dundee East Girls Youth Teams; Broughty United Amateurs; Dundee East Over 35s; Dundee East Walking Football; and "the Fed" - Broughty Athletic Junior Football Club. Tayside Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia have been providing support to families with children who suffer from Cancer or Leukaemia since 1994. They offer financial support in terms of travel grants to get parents to and from treatment if their child is in hospital away from home. They provide grants to families who need support to make family life easier. They provide everything from a new washing machine, to heating grants to keep children warm during the winter months, to driving lessons for a Mum to help her get to the hospital. They can now offer much needed holidays in the new TCCL Lodge located in St Andrews. Whatever families need, this charity aims to support them. United retain the trophy for the second year running! 🏆

From start to finish, the atmosphere was brilliant and the support overwhelming, all for a fantastic cause. We couldn’t have done it without you all!
