Tel. 01382 501972 or email [email protected] We work with single parent families, children, single and contact fathers and other families in need across Dundee. Our team of family support workers have a lot of knowledge, skills and experience of working with parents on their own or in group settings. We can provide support and advice when you need it most at a pace that suits you a
nd your family. We can arrange to see you where it suits you best, including your own home. We are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm, but have an answering machine to take your calls out with these times. This means you can leave a message so we can call you back. The types of support we can offer to parents can be things like helping you with your children’s behaviour, their routines and how to help them grow and develop in the best possible way. We can also give you information about activities you or your children might like and even go along with you at the start. Other things that might be worrying you could be about where you are living, money issues and things affecting you or your children’s health. We can also help with more difficult things like relationships with ex partners and family members, court cases, meetings and appointments. The most difficult times might be where other people have said they are worried about how you are looking after your children and when your children are no longer living with you. We also have workers dedicated to helping single parents of any age and any young parents, under 25, on their journey towards a future that could include building your confidence, helping you get some experience, gain some qualifications and get a job all with support. Our workers can meet with you at a time and place that suits you best, including your own home to start you on your journey. They can talk to you about what you would like to work towards, what are your dreams for the future, what would you like to achieve. They have a lot of knowledge and experience of working with people just like you and they will be able to give advice and support about what you can do to get you started. The workers will do what we call ‘action planning’ so you will have your own plan for your future. There are lots of things going on across Dundee that you might not know about, but we do.
