The Holywood Trust

The Holywood Trust The Holywood Trust is a charitable organisation aiming to help young people in Dumfries & Galloway.

The Holywood Trust is a charitable organisation which aims to help young people in Dumfries and Galloway. It gives grants to individuals and organisations, creating opportunities for young people in the region. The Trust is currently reviewing its priorities, but is particularly interested in:

• Providing opportunities for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in our region
• Encoura

ging talented young people in Dumfries and Galloway
• Helping improve creative and cultural opportunities across the region
• Supporting imaginative and inspirational approaches

We focus primarily on young people aged 15 – 25 years. However we will also consider supporting vulnerable younger children for preventative measures in relation to health or social disadvantage, or if the activities are particularly inspirational.

As we hope you now know, the Holywood Trust has been working towards achieving the LGBT Charter this year and efforts are being made to make the Trust a visible safe space for LGBTQ+ young people.

At the Trust, we believe it's now more important than ever to make our inclusion of and support for LGBTQ+ young people apparent. The Trust has regularly funded LGBTQ+ organisations and young people, as well as platformed their voices.

However, we know there is always room to grow - and more young people to talk to! This Pride Month, we want to shout about what young people in local LGBTQ+ communities are doing. If you're an organisation supporting LGBTQ+ young people, or a young person yourself and would like to get in touch - either to share your opinion of our efforts or to ask us to share YOUR accomplishments and efforts towards inclusion - send us a DM! We would love to hear what you have to say. (Please note, we understand the current climate can feel hostile, so are happy to anonymise anything we share at your request.)
