🎉🎉 Wonderful news! 🎉🎉

We’re delighted to have recently received substantial funding from The Holywood Trust for the third year running! 👏👏👏

Their continued support means so much to everyone at Horses4Help. It shows their belief in what we offer and in the value of providing opportunities for children and adults from the community to learn, grow and build confidence through working with our ponies.

This funding helps us continue delivering our sessions and Accredited Equi-Learning courses, creating a welcoming space where people can develop new skills, experience a sense of achievement and progress at their own pace. 🫶🐴

We are deeply grateful to have such a highly regarded organisation supporting our work. Without major funders, like The Holywood Trust and Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, Horses4Help would not exist to provide these opportunities for the children and adults who benefit from them.

Today is World Mental Health Day!

This year, the theme is "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”. Lived experience is what someone has experienced themselves, especially when it gives the individual knowledge or understanding that people who have only heard or learnt about such experiences do not have. Meaningful engagement extends beyond simply hearing these people out - it required creating opportunities for them to influence decisions, co-design services, strengthen peer-led approaches, challenge stigma and strengthen accountability.

The World Health Organization (WHO) have developed a a selection of essential resources, highlighting key publications including the “WHO framework for meaningful engagement” and valuable guidance on peer support and mental health training. IN OUR REGION EXHIBITION ON TOUR

The In Our Region exhibition, which debuted earlier this year, is currently touring all locations featured in this iteration of the series. It's currently coming to the end of its time in Kirkcudbright, and our next stop is Annan at Kate's Kitchen!

📍 Location: Kate's Kitchen, Annan DG12 6AN
🗓 Dates: Thursday 15th October - Thursday 12th November

Through open conversations and powerful image-based storytelling comes a project connected with four young people from across the region to explore identity, belonging, lived experience, and what young people truly need from the places they call home.

The exhibition features:
• Photography by Rhys Robert Thomson
• Interviews with Jamie Morrison, Adam Molyneux, Eden Beck, and Josh White
• Perspectives from Sanquhar, Whithorn, Annan, and Kirkcudbright

Last week, Clare presented a cheque for the amazing 'This Is Me' programme at All Roads Lead to Whithorn!

We are over the moon to receive £20,000 from The Holywood Trust for our This Is Me programme! 🎉💜

This funding will help us create a space where young people can build confidence, discover their strengths and turn their ideas into reality.

Thank you to The Holywood Trust for believing in our mission and in the young people at the heart of it. We’re ready to launch, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us! 🙌✨

Applications for Wonder Fools' Showcase Weekends are open! 📣

Rehearse and develop your chosen piece in your own setting, then have the chance to share your work live as part of a wider programme alongside other groups from across the country!

The 2027 events will take place at the Citizens Theatre Glasgow, An Lanntair Stornoway, and Theatre Royal Dumfries.
