We’re delighted to share that The Crichton Royal Institution’s Archive has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.
This international recognition celebrates an extraordinary collection that shines a light on the lives, creativity, and resilience of patients and staff at the Crichton Royal in the Victorian era.
We’re proud to have worked in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council and NHS Dumfries & Galloway, with the expert care of Dumfries and Galloway Heritage Service, to help safeguard these remarkable records for future generations.
We would also like to thank Anne Rinaldi and Valentina Bold for their work developing the application and building the case.
