BNI Roman Chapter meets every Wednesday lunchtime at 12 noon at Restaurant 1539, 9 Nuns Road. Chester CH1 2LY.

We are a successful business networking group based in Handbridge, Chester City Centre, overlooking the River Dee, we are a group of local business people offering excellent business opportunities for one another. Our objective is very simple – to get to know like and trust each other so that we can make quality business referrals and introductions. Visitors are most welcome to attend on a no obligation basis to assess whether membership of the chapter would benefit their own business

First time at the helm of BNI Roman this week for President Gordon, standing in for Dawn Louise Toner. Our notable networker for this month, Lisa Whitehouse, received her much-deserved framed certificate and recognition. Dan Pugh won this week's Harrington-Wright Trophy 🏆 for his story about once receiving a call from David Suchet's secretary, and we heard from Dawn Hilliard about her work at Travel Counsellors, providing excellent bespoke travel agency services (see photos for her contact details).

We also were delighted to welcome two exceptional young men, Jake Ingram and Caleb Pearson of Ace of Shine Detailing (aceofshinedetailing.co.uk). It was a privilege for us to be able to encourage and help them in their ongoing journey as business owners.

🎬 Member Spotlight: Meet Ewan of Daulby Read Insurance 📽

helps get you business insurance and commercial insurance and is particularly interested in speaking to high net worth individuals. Ewan will go out to see clients where possible to assess your insurance needs, and he will make sure that you have the right cover at the right price.

Yesterday it was Ewan's turn to speak about his business for 10 minutes in this week's feature presentation, and he highlighted 10 reasons why insurance brokers don't pay out due to the claimant's errors, including not informing your broker of any changes beforehand, claiming too late or exaggerating the value of the insured items.

Today was a fabulous meeting at BNI Roman and the beginning of a new chapter as the 2026-27 leadership team begin - Dawn Louise Toner our president, vice president, and Will Weston as secretary treasurer! Helena Cameron also began her new role as education co-ordinator. Her first ed slot focused on who can sub for a member and who should sub. Who will best represent your business in your absence?

We were also delighted to see Lisa Whitehouse chosen by the committee to be this month's notable networker for her steady and outstanding steering of BNI Roman over the past year to new heights. And, for the second mention in this post, Jacquie Ross awarded Will Weston the Harrington-Wright Trophy 🏆 for the best 60 seconds.

It's the end of an era today as the Apr2025-Sep2026 BNI Roman leadership team prepares to hand over to the new leadership team in October. Our three musketeers Lisa Whitehouse Ian Williams Sam Scheitler have been a brilliant team, and we look forward to the next chapter.

It was a day to recognise one of our great members: our notable networker this month is our lead visitor host Dawn Louise Toner for her consistently strong contribution to the group, both in terms of business passed and giving her time and energy to make it what it is!

We also had an excellent presentation from Tristan Hartey about his business Hartey Wealth Management.

BNI Roman meet every Wednesday from 12-2pm. at Churchill House, Chester University. Our chapter has passed over £2 million in the past 12 months! BNI members, on average, increase their business 20% the first year.

This week, Jacquie Ross of Utility Warehouse won this month's Notable Networker Award for her consistent high standard of contribution to our chapter. Jacquie assists customers in reducing their home utilities covering gas, electricity, broadband, phone, and mobile by merging them into a single, convenient monthly statement. Jacquie is multi-talented and also works as a magistrate and a celebrant.

BNI Roman is a dynamic, committed group of business people who know how to refer business to each other. We have open categories for individuals who will bring enthusiasm and integrity to our meeting. Just one person per professional speciality is allowed in each chapter.
