Last night was the final meeting of the season. We all enjoyed a superbly run 2nd degree demonstration, but the cherry in the cake, was the fact we could also sing Happy Birthday to Wor.Bro Michael Shiels who was celebrating his 66th birthday!!!

Some shots of our incredible Olde English Night last Tuesday!

What an incredible night Westminster lodge had last Tuesday. This was our second Old English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 night and it proved to be an overwhelming success. Nearly seventy people sat down, both masons and non masons, to enjoy this white table event. The food that was served was of the highest quality and the entertainment was outstanding with organist Bro. Mike Edwards entertaining us all especially at the end with Land of Hope and Glory belting away on the amazing Wurlitzer he brought with him. A massive big thank you to him. I would personally like to thank all the brethren of Westminster lodge who came to support this event especially the members of the lodge who gave generously with their gifts for the raffle and auction. This incredible generosity helped the lodge to raise nearly £1800. The beneficiaries of our efforts were Chester Blue Coat charity and Three Dads Walking (Papyrus) who were both presented with a cheque for £500.Once again a big thanks to all of you who gave generously. I also think a big thank you goes to WB. Anthony Morris and WB. Dave Jones for the hard work and effort they put into the table planning and the nights program. Our auctioneer for the night WB. Paul Richards did an outstanding job as usual. A big thanks must also go to Bro Stephan Arch for organising the event, Wor.Bro Ian Macintosh who provided the commemorative Tankards everyone recieved and Bro. Mike Dooley who used his van to transport the organ to Cheshire View.

Today we bid farewell to Wor.Bro John Maguire.
His funeral was held at Upton Parish Church of the Holy Ascension , and the service was well attended by family , friends and Brethren of Westminter Lodge.
His son Peter Maguire gave a moving eulogy, recounting happy times with his father.

We will miss John's company and his flair on the organ during our meetings.
