Looking for something to do with the family this weekend? 🏰

Step inside two of Chester's historic towers and discover the stories hidden within their walls.

At King Charles Tower, children can have a go at brass rubbing, while adults can learn about the role the tower played during the English Civil War.

At Bonewaldesthorne's Tower, climb the spiral staircase to the darkened upper chamber and experience the fascinating camera obscura, with presentations from Heritage Chester volunteers throughout the day.

Step inside two of Chester's historic towers next weekend 🏰

Join Heritage Chester as we open King Charles Tower and Bonewaldesthorne's Tower to visitors. Free entry, no booking required – just drop in!

📍 King Charles Tower - Stand where the King is said to have watched events unfold as the Battle of Rowton Moor signalled that the English Civil War was turning against him.

📍 Bonewaldesthorne's Tower - Climb the spiral staircase to the darkened upper chamber and discover the fascinating camera obscura. Heritage Chester volunteers will be giving presentations on this ingenious optical device, which projects live images of the surrounding landscape onto a table below.
