Chapel en le Frith Arts

Chapel en le Frith Arts Welcome to the Chapel Arts page. Please invite all your friends to like this page. CA will promote all art forms, wherever there is a local interest.

Chapel Arts (CA) was formed in 2014 to promote arts in the local community. In promoting arts we aim to put on arts events, covering visual arts and crafts, performing arts and literary arts. Longer term we aim to secure a building to serve as an Arts Centre to focus our activities and allow people to use as a meeting place. In the short term we will use any suitable building within the area.

This month's talk was "The Public Houses of Chapel-en-le-Frith" by the superbly knowledgeable Peter Goddard.
Concentrating on pubs that are no longer, it was an amazing, humorous and informative evening.
Amongst others we had the gory backstory to the "Bishop Blaise" pub; and does anyone know exactly where "The Volunteer" was?
Many thanks to Peter for his talk, and to Gareth and staff at REMS, Chapel-en-le-frith for providing the excellent venue.

Our Creative Writing Group are participating in the Buxton Festival Fringe. This will be their 7th year of Fringe performances and last year they were nominated for a Fringe Award.

As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the first public demonstration of television the Writing Group will entertain you with stories, poems, monologues and a playlet exploring the impact of various forms of electronic entertainment.

Both performances will be at Rems in Chapel. Please see poster below for dates, times and details on how to get your tickets.
