One of our former scouts is doing some fundraising down at the FAB market in Whaley today 😁

Sophie from Cracken Explorer Scout Unit is at the Whaley Bridge FAB (Food and Arts at the Basin) market today, selling her crochet creations to fundraise for the World Scout Jamboree in Poland 2027.

She has been selected as the only participant from the High Peak to be one of the 36 members of Derbyshire Unit 20 - WSJ Poland 2027 to join thousands of other Scouts across the World in Poland 2027.

If you're out and about, please do pop by and support her!

A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, leaders and helpers who gave up their time for our big Spring Clean-Up! 🌿☀️
What a fantastic team effort it was with everyone getting stuck in to help get the Scout hut and grounds looking brilliant again ready for the busy summer term ahead.
Jobs tackled included strimming, mowing, edging grass, cutting back the heavily overgrown hedgerow, clearing gutters and drains, general tidying and plenty more along the way!
Many hands really did make light work and the difference made in just a few hours was incredible. The hard work and support from everyone involved is hugely appreciated and helps create enjoyable space for all of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers to enjoy.
Thank you again to everybody who came along, brought tools, worked hard and helped out — your support means a lot to the group and community. 👏💚

Our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders and adult helpers all had a busy but amazing weekend!!

Wallaboree is all about adventure, teamwork, friendship and making memories that will last a lifetime. From the moment the weekend began there was a real buzz around camp, with everyone throwing themselves into the activities, challenges and fun that make events like this so special.

80th Anniversary of V-J Day

Today marks the 80th anniversary of V-J day which marks the surrender of Japan and an end of hostilities in the second world war.

The attached photograph shows the official entry in the 1st Chapel-en-le-Frith Scout Troop log book for 15th August 1945, and a letter from Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council thanking the Scout Group for arranging the celebration bonfire on the Marketplace.

80 years since the end of the second world war, the Scout Group still remembers and is thankful for all the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom.

We will remember them.
