Blooming brilliant! 🌹

Our grateful thanks go to Blue Diamond Garden Centres for raising £324 for Blythe House Hospice from April 2025 to March 2026, through the sale of their Duchess of Devonshire charity rose.

Blue Diamond donates £1 for every charity rose sold through Blue Diamond Garden Centres and Fryer’s Roses online, to the hospice. Only around 3 in every 10 people we care for are supported through NHS funding. The remaining care is made possible by our community, through donations like this one, fundraising, our shops and gifts left in Wills.

There's still time to make an appointment with Cooper sons Hartley & Williams LLP
this June as they support Blythe House Hospice with their Wills Month.

Throughout the month, you’re able to draft your Will for free, and make a donation to the hospice in lieu of the services provided by the solicitors.

A big thank you to John and Paul from Harpur Hill Construction, for kindly donating their time and expertise to help us with some maintenance work at the hospice.

The team recently came and replaced a number of broken roof slates and took a look over other aspects of the roof.

We are incredibly grateful for gifts in kind such as this, which save valuable funds that can be directed towards providing vital hospice care across our communities.

➡️What are they?
Our groups provide welcoming and supportive spaces where people can come together to share experiences, access information and receive emotional support. Sessions are led or facilitated by trained staff and volunteers, and may include peer support, themed groups and informal drop-in sessions.

➡️Who are our groups for?
We offer a range of groups for people affected by life-limiting illness or bereavement, covering a variety of different topics and needs, providing an opportunity to access support, share experiences, and connect with others in a similar situation.

Whether someone is looking for advice, emotional support, friendship, or the chance to learn new skills, our groups offer a welcoming and supportive space where people can talk, listen and feel understood.

➡️How do they help?
They help by reducing feelings of isolation and providing reassurance through shared experience. Many people find comfort in meeting others who truly understand what they are going through in a safe and understanding environment.

➡️How much do groups cost to attend?
Our groups are free of charge.

We’ve already received so many beautiful and heartfelt dedications as part of our Sunflower Memories appeal this month. 🌻💛

Each sunflower dedicated in memory of a loved one represents a special life remembered, whilst supporting hospice care for patients and families across North Derbyshire.

There is still time to remember someone special through Sunflower Memories. In return for a donation of £25 or more, you will receive a beautiful metal sunflower to keep in their memory.

All dedicated sunflowers will be displayed together at our special remembrance service at Thornbridge Estate on Saturday 27th June, creating a touching tribute to those we hold close in our hearts.

A huge thank you to Mastermelt in Buxton for raising over an incredible £2,888 for Blythe House Hospice through their charity car wash on Saturday 30th May.🧽🫧🚗

This wonderful total will make a real difference, helping to fund a full course of counselling and play therapy for three children who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. It will also provide each child with a bereavement story book and memory box, offering comfort and support during an incredibly difficult time.💙

We are very grateful to the 20+ local businesses and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes to support the event – your kindness helped make the day such a success.

Most of the care we provide is funded by events like this. Your support helps us be there for local hospice patients, in the place they feel most comfortable: at home.

We're hiring - Retail Manager! 🛍️

Are you an experienced retail manager who enjoys working with people and wants to make a real difference? 💙

We are looking for a motivated and hands on Retail Manager to oversee our large retail store and associated donation point in Whaley Bridge. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in generating vital income for Blythe House Hospice while leading and supporting a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

You will be responsible for driving sales, maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and customer service, and developing a positive, welcoming environment for customers, donors and volunteers alike. Working closely with the Senior Retail Manager and wider retail and eCommerce teams, you will help maximise income and promote the values and services of the hospice within the local community.
