Whaley Bridge Food Bank Whaley Bridge Food Bank is set up and run by the Canal Group. We operate a soft referral system with no paperwork required for people to use us.

We appreciate any and all donations. Follow our posts to keep up-to-date with what we're most in need of.

FAB Market October 10th (Saturday)

Why venture beyond Whaley in that there drizzle, stay here in our wonderful village/town/metropolis, check out all the shops, from Horwich End to the basin. Plenty of time to relax and something for yourself or the important people/animals in your life.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated fresh fruit and veg from their allotments recently. We've been overwhelmed with apples in particular, and it's fantastic to be able to offer such fresh, healthy produce to local families.

Every bag of apples, every handful of veg, makes a real difference to our neighbours here in Whaley Bridge.

Hi everyone. For any of you Waitrose shoppers out there, or even if you're just in Buxton; we're very grateful to the store for asking us to do a food drive there this week. We're in today until 2pm. We're then in:

Monday 7th: 4pm to 6pm
Tuesday 8th: 10am to 12 noon and 4pm to 6pm
Wednesday 9th: 10am to 12 noon
Thursday 10th: 10am to 12 noon and 4pm to 6pm
Saturday 12th: 4pm to 6pm

Also remember that all purchases at the Transhipment go towards the whole project, including keeping the building open and everything else that goes on here, including subsidising Men's Shed and the Food Bank, amongst other things.

Odd post…. We're trying to locate the kind person who dropped off two bags of donations for us yesterday (Monday) at around 3.30pm; a B&M bag and a Tesco bag.

Thing is, another soul picked them up just after you and when they were returned today they appeared to be a lot lighter.

It's recorded on CCTV, but we'd just like to make sure that the second person wasn't given permission. They may even have thought they were being helpful minding them while we were closed and dropping them off again when we were closed.

Any help gratefully received.

This week we're in urgent need of UHT milk, squash, tinned meat, tinned fruit, toiletries (especially shampoo, deodorant and shower gel) and pet food.
