Remember how wet it was last Saturday??? 🌧️

Our cubs were on camp at Blacklands Farm! 😳

Rain didn’t dampen spirits though, they did crate stacking, camp gadget making and had hot chocolate and songs round the campfire to name a few activities!

Thank you to our leaders, young leaders and parent helpers to make “resilience camp” a fun success!

Overland 2026 - huge congratulations to the Scouts and Explorers who took part in The Overland Hike competition this weekend. They navigated their own way across the South Downs (approx 40km over 2 days), carrying all their kit (food, camping) and took part in various incidents - testing their skills, knowledge, imagination and team work. Making memories and developing skills for life.
We’re extremely proud of you

Could you help our Beavers next week???

Following on from our Superheroes evening last week, at our Beavers meetings on 9th and 10th February, we’ll be running a “Community Heroes” themed evening, where the Beavers will be learning about the different ways everyday heroes help and support our local community.

As part of this, we’d love to invite a few grown ups to come along and take part in the session. The idea is very relaxed and child-led: the Beavers will interview our visitors in a fun “20 Questions” style, finding out what you do and how it helps people locally.

We’re especially looking for anyone whose job or volunteering role supports the community in some way — for example (but not limited to!):

🔹Emergency services or healthcare
🔹Farming, land management /conservation or countryside roles
🔹Parish, school, church or village organisations
🔹Youth work, care roles or volunteering - member of the PTA
🔹Sports coaching or helping to run local clubs and teams - making the tea!
🔹Local trades or services that keep village life ticking along

If you’re reading this and thinking “that’s not really me”, please don’t worry — this evening is very much about the everyday things that help make village life work. Often the roles we think of as “just what we do” are exactly the ones the Beavers find most interesting.

And if it’s not you but you have a family member or friend who you think might fit the bill, they would be very welcome too, please share.

If you’d be happy to help, or would like to know a bit more before deciding, please just email: [email protected]

We’d be very grateful, and the Beavers always love having visitors. 💙

We welcomed Lorraine from Uckfield Food Bank to talk to the cubs a couple of weeks ago about the food bank - a very interesting and engaging session.

We then asked if the cubs and families would be able to donate any food… they donated a whopping 36.6kgs!

Thank you to all who donated to help those in our community.
