Bridge Cottage is a medieval ‘Wealden’ hall house built around 1436. It is one of the oldest buildings in Uckfield. It is currently looked after by the Uckfield and District Preservation Society. Bridge Cottage has recently been restored, with the help of a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund, to look much as it did in the 1600s. Today the building plays host to a variety of local history and communi

⚜️ LIVE MUSIC AT BRIDGE COTTAGE ⚜️

Our next concert at Bridge Cottage will be the amazing Simon Stallard performing ‘Passages’.

Passages is a solo performance which weaves together history, folklore, and music, combining the tales of three sea voyages. Stories of wrecks, rescues and migration. Stories which show the wild elements and human spirit at their best, worst and most beautiful. Come for an evening of storytelling and songs and be transported.

⚜️ MONTHLY HISTORICAL TALKS AT BRIDGE COTTAGE ⚜️

We look forward to welcoming Dr Janet Pennington to the cottage on Thursday 3rd September to deliver a talk all about the history of the small shop through the ages! The talk will commence at 7pm and finish roughly at 8. Refreshments will be available at our fully licensed bar.

The shop is hosting an art sale in Bridge Cottage on Saturday 29th August 10am to 2pm.

We will have many different pictures, paintings and art work available with prices starting from as low as £1.00

Bridge Cottage will have a selection of maps and other items for sale on the day too.
