Snowy is on the lookout for a terrier-savvy home to call his own. He loves playing with other dogs, but can sometimes be a little too enthusiastic and is very fond of his toys, so he would like to be the only dog in his new home 🏡

Snowy is super affectionate, loves to play with his squeaky toys, does a beautiful sit, and is generally a pleasure to be around 🥹

Pearl is a fun-loving 7-month-old Bichon Frise with a bright future ahead of her and she's looking for a patient family to help her discover it ✨

🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Meet Arlene 🌟

Arlene has been fostering with Dogs Trust Bridgend for three and a half years. After retiring, she wanted to fulfil a lifelong dream of having a dog and, with support from Dogs Trust, began her fostering journey.

Since then, she's welcomed a number of dogs into her home, adopted her own dog Lucy, and continues to help dogs on their way to finding loving homes.

We caught up with Arlene to find out more about her volunteering experience 👉

🐾 What inspired you to become a dog foster carer?
"I've always wanted a dog, but I couldn't have one because I worked overseas. After I retired, Dogs Trust suggested I start fostering to see how I got on, and I've been fostering ever since."

🐾 Have any of the dogs you've fostered left a lasting impression on you?
"The one that really sticks in my heart was a former racing Greyhound called Sadie. We were together for just over two months, and it was amazing to watch her develop and grow in confidence."

🐾 Do you have a favourite breed?
"I love Collies, but I also have an absolute passion for sighthounds. Their nature really is wonderful."

Meet Maisie 💕🐾

Maisie is an almost 6-year-old Chihuahua cross Pug with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles.

This lovely little lady enjoys the simple things in life – pottering around on gentle walks, sniffing to her heart's content, chasing her favourite rubber ball in the garden, and curling up on a cosy lap afterwards 🏡💛

Maisie can be a little wary when meeting new people, but she soon warms up and becomes a wonderfully loyal companion. She's looking for a home where she can be the only dog, with adopters who'll give her time to settle in and build her confidence at her own pace ✨

🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Meet Marilyn 🌟

Marilyn has been volunteering at Dogs Trust Bridgend for almost nine years. After retiring from nursing, she was looking for a hands-on role where she could continue helping others and found exactly that at Dogs Trust.

From helping with cleaning and collecting donations to supporting the team with day-to-day tasks, Marilyn plays an important role behind the scenes, helping to keep the centre running smoothly.

We caught up with Marilyn to find out more about her volunteering journey.

🐾 What inspired you to become a volunteer?
"I was a nurse before I retired and I've always liked the caring side of things. We'd adopted several dogs from this centre over the years and I'd always thought I'd love the chance to volunteer."

🐾 Is there a dog you've particularly enjoyed getting to know?
"There have been so many, but one that stands out is a Greyhound called Wilf. He was full of energy and just wanted lots of fuss and attention."

🐾 What's your favourite breed?
"I do like Staffies. We've had Staffie crosses over the years and they've always been wonderful dogs."

🐾 What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
"Working alongside the team is a real pleasure. They're always so positive and supportive and they make you feel like part of the team."
