Alan Davies shared this on seeing the post about Len Evans:

"I made a love heart spoon with him when I was in woodwork class in school it was to be presented to the queen on her visit to Wales unfortunately smallpox prevented it from happening it was a fabulous spoon and would have done us proud"

What a shame she never got the spoon - her loss!😊

You can still see the recent episode of "The Repair Shop on the Road" - Series 2, Cornwall. It's on the BBC i-player. Len Evans's daughter has had his love spoons restored. He - of our Len Evans Hall.

So lovely to hear his daughter's memories of a much loved local who is part of our Aberkenfig Welfare Association history. His picture hangs in the hall that bears his name and often brings back memories for our visitors and hall users.

Some of you may have seen the recent episode of "The Repair Shop on the Road - Series 2, Cornwall. If not it's on the BBC i-player.

Len Evans's daughter has had his love spoons restored. He - of our Len Evans Hall - was responsible for our second hall that started life as a Boys' club that then became the youth club - where many locals had well-remembered snogging sessions! πŸ₯° And it later became home to a Pensioners' group - we'd be interested to know if there was still snogging!πŸ™„πŸ€£

And of course Len was a gifted carpenter and woodwork teacher who made amazing love spoons. And a member of the ALFA ladies was lucky enough to receive one as a wedding present!

So lovely to hear his daughter's memories of a much loved local who is part of our Aberkenfig Welfare Association history.
