Bicester's Centre for Circular Economy and Skills

We are a shop for reconditioned and reclaimed hardware, household items and bicycles.

Our volunteers reduce waste and learn to repair bikes and electrical appliances and repurpose wood. Centre for Skills, Sustainability & Secondhand Stuff

We are a shop & workshops by Garth Park and the The Garth, only 5min from the town centre. We reuse, repair, repurpose, recondition and recycle bikes, electricals and wooden items. Our amazing team of volunteers in the wood workshop can also make

your own commission from reclaimed wood and materials. Volunteer opportunities available in the shop, bicycle workshop, electrical repairs and the wood workshop. You don't have to be skilled to join us, our team love teaching and sharing their own skills.

🌲 WOOD YOU BELIEVE IT?! We’ve had a clear-out! 🪵😂

Many volunteers make light work… especially when there’s a Man with a Van involved! 🚐💪

As part of upgrading our wood workshop, we’ve been having a very long-overdue clear-out of wood we’ve stored over the years. Some of it was warped, some water damaged, some had woodworm — and some had simply been waiting patiently for its moment to be useful again!

Well, that moment has arrived. 👋

Our brilliant volunteers got stuck in, loading it all up and getting it ready for its next adventure. And it’s not going to waste…

♻️ The wood is heading off to Bucks Recycling, where it will be recycled and made into chipboard.

So, from old, tired and unwanted wood… to something useful again. 🌱

And as you can see from our speedy-up video, many volunteers really do make light work! 😄

A huge thank you to everyone who got stuck in — although we’re not promising that the workshop is completely clear just yet! 😉

🚲 You might remember this bike…

Well, the story gets even better!

After its very unexpected reunion with its owner, the bike went through our workshop for some Bicester Green TLC. 💚

A new tyre and inner tube, a LOT of de-rusting, plus plenty of tweaking and fettling by one of our brilliant bike volunteers — and it was looking good again!

Our delighted volunteer watched as her bike was brought back to life… and then came the best bit.

Time to ride it home! 🥰🚲💨

From stolen bike to very unexpected reunion to happy ending — we really couldn’t have written a better story.

And yes… the bag is still there! 🎒😂

Well, this is a story we didn’t expect! 🚲❤️

We occasionally receive bikes that have been abandoned, ready for our volunteers to repair and give them a new lease of life.

But this one turned out to be rather special…

One of our volunteers suddenly realised that the bike in front of her was HER bike — stolen way back in September from outside St Edburg's Church! 😲

And the biggest clue? Her bag was still attached to it! 🎒

After months of thinking she’d never see it again, her bike had somehow found its way to Bicester Green. We’re not quite sure of the full story, but we do know there was one very delighted volunteer when she recognised it!

Sometimes our donations really do come with a story. 💚

🔧🍰 Who knew running a Repair Café involved so much cake? 😂

While our brilliant volunteers are busy fixing kettles, hedge trimmers, skirts and all sorts of other things this Saturday 15th, another important team is hard at work…

The Cake & Cuppa Department! ☕🍰

Our volunteers bring in their homemade cakes, set up the refreshment trolley and make sure there are free drinks and free cake waiting for everyone who comes along.

Because let's be honest… sometimes you need a slice of cake while you wait for your toaster to be brought back to life! 😋

A huge thank you to all our wonderful bakers, brewers and refreshment-trolley wranglers. They’re an essential part of the Repair Café team! 💚

Repair something. Have a cuppa. Eat some cake. Repeat. 🔧☕🍰

Our Repair Cafe is open today at Bicester Green from 10am to 2pm! Bring your broken items, sewing and leather mends and pop in for a drink and cake while our volunteers see what they can do. All for free.
