🎉It's Kinship Care Week, a national week of awareness, recognition, and celebration of kinship families across England and Wales.🥳

Kinship carers are grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, other relatives or friends, who step in to raise children who cannot live with their parents.

We want to celebrate and thank each and every one of our Kinship Carers. You are all doing a fantastic job and we are proud to support you all ❤️

🎄 Christmas Raffle – Prize Donations Needed! 🎁

Oxfordshire Foster Care Association (OFCA) is looking for prize donations for our annual Christmas raffle!
OFCA provides valuable support, activities and opportunities for Oxfordshire foster carers and the children they care for. Our annual raffle helps us raise much-needed funds to continue this important work.

Do you, a friend, family member or someone you know own or work for a business that could donate a prize? It could be an item, voucher, experience or service — every donation would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

When people think about fostering, they often assume it requires a full-time commitment. But that isn't always the case. For some carers, fostering can be as little as one weekend a month, providing children and young people with regular short breaks while offering valuable support to their foster

🌞 Over the weekend, we came together for our annual Foster Carer Picnic, welcoming more than 70 children, young people, foster carers and staff for a fantastic day of fun and celebration. From face painting and arts and crafts to the bouncy castle and live performances, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

"It was a wonderful, child-centred and family-friendly day that brought our fostering community together to connect, celebrate and have fun." Delia Mann, Deputy Director, Children's Social Care.

After a long wait, and a postponement on Saturday due to the weather, 3 amazing ladies threw themselves out of a perfectly good plane on Bank Holiday Monday to raise money for us 🪂

We have made it! We have reached the end of the long summer holidays! 🥳

Over the past six weeks, we have welcomed new children and said goodbye to others—the very nature of foster care. We have laughed, cried and experienced just about everything in between.

Our carers have made fantastic use of the amazing activities we have been able to provide, helping our fostering families enjoy as smooth, fun and memorable a summer as possible.

From Fairytale Farm, Crocodiles of the World, Swanage beach hut and CarFest, to Rewind Festival, Truck Festival, Blenheim Palace, Thomley, Hatton Adventure World, FunFest and Clip ’n Climb Bicester—it has certainly been a busy one!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these opportunities possible, and to our incredible foster carers who have worked tirelessly to create happy memories for the children in their care.

Now, take a deep breath… we made it! 💛
