Emma Turl discovered writing hymns when her activities became more limited because of sight loss and reduced mobility. Now she is a leading hymn writing working with Gill Berry on a variety of styles including hymns, songs and Bible paraphrases. Her hymns are published by Praise Trust and Jubilate She is delighted to work with new and emerging hymn writers and we welcome her once more to our judging panel. Michael Jagessar is a retired minister of the United Reformed Church who was their lead staff for Global and Intercultural Ministries. He also served as a former moderator of the General Assembly of the United Reformed Church (2012-2014) and taught ecumenical theology, interfaith studies, Black and contextual theologies and practice, and liturgy/worship.
