Historic motorsport team, racing in the UK and abroad, for students in Oxford to gain the practical experience they need for working in the industry.

Founded in 2005, OUMF is an independent, student-led initiative for students of both universities in Oxford, to promote the practical 'hands on' aspect of engineering and associated skills through the exciting medium of motorsport and so encourage a lifetime interest in all aspects of the sport. Weekly Meetings held at THE BRITANNIA pub (Headington) EVERY TUESDAY from 8pm! Practical sessions - Monday & Thursday evenings, and most weekends!

Success at the Abingdon Carnival for OUMF at last!

Our 7 year DNF streak has finally come to an end and we are delighted with the outcome we had this weekend.

The first event of the weekend was the Sprint, our V8 TVR 350i performed flawlessly and roared its way around the airfield.

The rally was where the team were put to the test, 7 stages, 6 hour long services and a lot of spanner checking. Everyone came together and put in the hard work that kept the car running smoothly, paying meticulous attention to every bolt and screw. This was a great shakedown for our international event in 2 weeks time.

From starting seeded at 73rd in the beginning to finishing 61st out of 94 is a result we are all very proud of.

A huge thank you again to and for their help with the new rally seats and helmet, without which we would not have made it to the event.

Bring on Ypres 🇧🇪

Not long until we’ll be crossing the channel for one of our biggest events of the year, the Ypres Rally!

We have been working hard to get our Riley prepped and we are hoping to get ourselves back on the finishing podium after last year’s heartbreak.

As always, we want to thank each and every one of our sponsors for giving us this possibility of a lifetime. We are so grateful for the support you give us and we hope you are as excited as us to see OUMF take on the twisty Belgian roads again!

The OUMF team left HQ with the Sebring Sprite and headed to Bicester Motion to spend the day with the Healey Drivers Club.
We met members, admired and learned about their cars, shared what OUMF does, exhibited the Sebring Sprite on our stand, and put the race car through its paces around the test track to show what members of the club can achieve.
A big thank you to the Healey Drivers Club and Rod Graham for inviting us and supporting what we do. We had a brilliant day.

Donington Historic Festival 🏁

A great way to start the 2026 calendar, some very wet conditions for both races but Ding managed to bring it home.

The teams hard work in the weeks leading up paid off as the Riley finished 2nd in class and the Elva 3rd, with Ding setting himself a new lap best at Donington being 1 second faster during the Allstars qualifying.

So the racing resumes in 3 days time…

We kick off with the Donington Historic Festival, racing the Sprite and Riley in the HRDC Jack Sears and Allstars races.

We would not have access to these opportunities without the continued generosity of our supporters. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who stands by us through every win, loss and learning curve.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Phillips Tyres and Race Parts UK for providing us with a new helmet and race seats following the expiration of our previous equipment.

Last week was another busy one for the OUMF team as we geared up for a day HORIBA MIRA testing the Elva.

In preparation, we made sure everything was running smoothly - no surprises on the day!
This meant:

- thorough engine checks 🔧

- getting to grips with RaceLogic and Haltech systems to help us validate data 📊

- and a race between the Elva and a tractor! 🚜

Another brilliant show done and dusted and we came away with the award ‘Best Stand in the Show’ 🏆

Thank you to the incredible team who have allowed the team to fabricate their own custom fuel tank for our Elva!

It was an incredibly informative experience, and we’re grateful that Allisport trusted us to get hands-on and carry out much of the fabrication ourselves. The team came away with not only a finished component, but also a wealth of new knowledge and practical skills.
