Friends of Langford Village School (FOLVS) is the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Langford Village Primary School.

We are a friendly group of parent volunteers who turn ideas into actions to raise money in support of the Headmistress and the school.

Only 4 more sleeps until the BIG day! 🎉

We just need two little things before then:
1️⃣ for this rain to disappear ☀️
2️⃣ and lots of bottles for our very popular Bottle Tombola! 🍾

Just a reminder that this Friday is a non-uniform day in exchange for bottle donations. Bottles can be dropped off by the hall between 8:30–9:00am on Friday morning.

We’ll also happily accept Teddy Tombola donations at the same time too 🧸

We have a BIG announcement everyone… 🎉

We have some VERY special guests coming to our Summer Fete on Saturday 6th June! ✨

All the way from Australia… 🇦🇺
BINGO & BLUEY are coming to help us celebrate Langford Village Primary School’s 30th Birthday Celebration! 🥳

Bingo and Bluey will be officially opening our fete and will be around throughout the day, so be sure to come along and say “G’day!” 👋💙🧡

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

FOLVS were very happy to supply breakfast each morning for year 6 children sitting their SATS this week, and today, as a celebration it’s all over, we’ve just delivered hot pizzas and some yummy treats for them to celebrate with!

REMINDER - Non Uniform day

There will be tables for sweetie drop off outside the hall/cygents and also one by the steps from the playground (outside year 6).

With just over 5 weeks to go, the FOLVS team has been busy, busy, busy behind the scenes getting everything ready for our Summer Fete—and this year it’s bigger than ever! 🎉

We’re celebrating 30 years of Langford Village School, so this isn’t just any fete… it’s a birthday party you won’t want to miss!

Expect a full day of fun with live music, delicious food trucks, a bar, games galore, local stallholders, emergency vehicles, inflatables, solar telescope observing, and plenty more surprises along the way.

And speaking of surprises… we’ve been keeping a *big* one under wraps… 👀
ALPACAS are coming to visit! 🦙
That’s right—you’ll be able to meet some very special, very fluffy visitors on the day!

As we head into the final stretch, you’ll start to see more posts from us—especially calls for help. We’ll be organising a leaflet drop around Langford at the end of May, so we’d love as many volunteers as possible to get involved. We’ll also be asking if you can spare an hour on the day to help everything run smoothly. Every bit of help makes a huge difference—thank you!

*Friday 15th May* – Non-uniform day (bring sweets for the sweetie tombola—no chocolate or nuts, please)
*Monday 1st June* – Teddy Tombola drop-off (outside Cygnets gates)

‼️Stargazing CANCELLED‼️

We are so sorry to say we have to cancel stargazing again 😭

The visibility is very poor tonight and tomorrow and also rain is due and if it rains the telescope have to be covered up and cannot be used, so the conditions are again against us.

This is really frustrating, especially after all of the lovely weather we have recently had, and we are sorry to let you all down again. We will look at another future date and communicate this when we can.

What a lovely day we had at the sale today! The children were a delight and just lovely manners 🥰

If anyone was off school today, or Dad's, if your children happen to mention that they both picked the same gift for Mum 🫣then please pop to reception between now and Friday where you can exchange duplicate gifts or buy a new one if you were off. We tried really hard today to make a note of siblings to try and make sure they didn't double up but I fear some may have slipped through the net!

Okay, let's try this again! STARGAZING - TUESDAY 24th MARCH

Come and join us on the playground where we will have multiple telescopes where we can hopefully view the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn (as long as the clouds behave). We will also have some space-related arts and crafts activities, hot chocolates to warm us up and finally, The Pizza Boys will also be joining us for hot, yummy pizzas for dinner.

This event is open to all parents and children at Langford Village School. Please dress accordingly for the cold weather. Entrance is via the school playground. Please note that again this event is weather-dependent, so if we have severe cloud on the day, or rain that may damage the telescopes, we may need to cancel, but we will update accordingly if that is the case. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a clear and dry night!

* We could also do with a couple of parent volunteers (your children can also assist you) to help run some of the arts and craft stations on the evening. If you can spare an hour, please let me know. Thank you!

‼️Mothers Day Sale - Weds 11th March‼️

We will be holding a sale in school on 💐Wednesday 11th March💐for children to purchase a gift for that special someone for Mother’s Day. Children will come in class by class and get to select something and we will wrap it too, so no peeking!

All gifts are £2. Please send your child in with money on the day, all children will be given the opportunity to attend so forgotten money can be brought in the following day. Children are welcome to bring in extra if they’d like to buy for someone else special too.

This is honestly one of the most rewarding events we do each year. Hearing the children get so excited and talking about what their parents like and don’t like and how excited they are once they have chosen is very heartwarming 🥰

We are seeking local companies to sponsor some of our big up front costs at our Summer Fete. Some examples include our inflatables and our entertainment. Having people sponsors these costs mean we can raise more funds for the school.

This doesn’t have to cover the whole amount, it can be a donation towards it. In return there will be a sign up telling people who has helped sponsor it, social media shout-outs, and you’re welcome to hand out flyers on the day advertising your business.
