Today our Community Engagement team is attending the Community Safety Day at Skainos Square where our volunteers will be on hand to meet members of the public and showcase the work we do.
The event brings together a range of organisations committed to keeping our communities safe and our team will be displaying some of our specialist search and rescue equipment and sharing information about water safety and the role our volunteers play in supporting the emergency services. Whether you're interested in learning more about our work, or simply want to say hello, we'd be delighted to meet you.
We encourage everyone to come along to Skainos Square, meet the organisations involved, and enjoy a day focused on community safety and engagement.

B - 13/06/2026 14:15 UTC: Belfast Lifeboat, Belfast ILB & LSAR Shoreline Response tasked by Belfast Coastguard to a person in the water.

G - Synopsis: Belfast Lifeboat, Belfast ILB & LSAR Shoreline Response tasked to a high risk missing person believed to have entered the water. A multi agency search with Belfast Lifeboat, Belfast ILB, Lifeboats from Bangor, Donaghadee, HM Coastguard Helicopter; Rescue 199, and land based assets was carried out with nothing found. It was later confirmed that the person had not entered the water and was safe and well.
