Tearfund Northern Ireland We're Christians passionate about ending poverty. We won't stop until poverty stops.

Love is easy to talk about. Jesus shows us what it looks like in action.

His love leads us towards our global neighbours – into places affected by conflict, climate crises and injustice.

It leads us to respond. To work together. To keep pushing for a world where extreme poverty no longer has the final word.

Watch the film and ask yourself: where will love lead you? 💛

In northeast Uganda, families are facing severe food shortages. For some, finding enough food means climbing thorny trees to gather leaves for their next meal.

But hunger doesn’t have to have the final word.

Natalia shows us what can happen when love leads us to act – from helping crops grow to providing food for children who were going hungry.

Because the love Jesus shows us doesn’t stand still. It leads us towards our global neighbours. It leads us to act. 💛

Where is love leading you?

When an outbreak spreads, getting accurate health information to people quickly can save lives.
But information alone isn't always enough. People need to trust the person delivering it.

That's where local faith leaders can make a real difference.
They are already part of the communities they serve. They know the people, understand local beliefs and traditions, and can have conversations that outside organisations simply can't.

That's why Tearfund is calling for faith leaders to be fully included in the Ebola response in eastern DR Congo – not on the sidelines, but as a vital part of protecting communities.

Please join us in praying for everyone affected by the outbreak, and for the local faith leaders, health workers and communities working together to stop its spread. 🙏

And if you're able to give, your support can help Tearfund respond to urgent needs in DR Congo.

Across Indonesia and the Philippines, families are facing the devastating effects of earthquakes, flooding and landslides.
Today, we pray. 🙏

Indonesia: Pray for families grieving and those who have been displaced following the earthquake in Flores. Pray for a rapid and effective emergency response, and for search and rescue teams as they work to reach those in need.

Philippines: Pray for people affected by flooding and landslides, particularly those who have lost loved ones or are still waiting for news of people who are missing. Pray for comfort, healing and provision.

And pray for Tearfund’s partners and local churches responding – for wisdom, resilience and the resources they need to serve their communities.
God, be close to every person facing loss and uncertainty today.

Bring comfort to those who mourn, strength to those responding and hope to communities beginning to recover. Amen. 💛

Humanitarian work can mean responding when disaster strikes. But it also means staying, listening and working alongside communities long after the headlines have moved on.

This World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate the people who make that work possible, who love as Jesus shows us.

Across Tearfund and our partners, humanitarian workers bring their skills, faith, compassion and determination to communities facing crisis – helping people not only survive emergencies, but build towards a more hopeful future.

Today, we simply want to say thank you to them. 💛 Tag someone whose compassion for others inspires you.

‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.’ (Isaiah 40:29)

If you’re running on empty lately, consider this your gentle reminder: you don’t have to carry it all in your own strength. When we are at our weakest, God’s grace and power step in. Take a deep breath and lean into him today. 🤍✨

🇿🇼 Our Tearfund team in Zimbabwe was delighted to connect with Rev. Richard Kerr, the current Moderator of the , as he met with denominational partners on his recent visit.

Rev. Kerr attended the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian General Assembly in Harare, bringing together brothers and sisters from Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. We hope his time with the assembly was a great encouragement to all involved!
