Former Labour minister Alun Milburn has published interim findings from a major review of young people and work, highlighting the scale of the crisis facing young people across the UK. His report warns of a โ€œwhole-system failureโ€ and the risk of a โ€œlost generationโ€ as more young people are out of work or education.

In Northern Ireland, this challenge is even more acute. Cuts under the Local Growth Fund have hollowed out employability services delivered by the voluntary and community sector - leaving some of our most marginalised young people without the help they need, when they need it most.

We cannot afford to cut investment while need continues to grow.
