As we prepare to mark the 250th anniversary of America, the Ulster-Scots Agency have created a Kist - a chest of artefacts showcasing the influence of the Ulster-Scots in early 1700's America.

The Kist is filled with items such as linen, a fiddle and letterpress letters, the Kist brings history to life through hands-on discovery.

Yesterday, Shirlie explored the Kist with Key Stage 2 pupils from Wheatfield P.S, feedback from Teaching Staff was the weans had a brilliant workshop.

The Schomberg Society is delighted to announce that Fusefm Mourne Radio will be returning to the airwaves again for our summer broadcast of 2026! 🙌

Fusefm Mourne will be back this summer, broadcasting from 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 - 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, between the times of 8am - 11pm each day! 🎙️

We are very excited to be back in Studio One this summer, with many of our ‘familiar voices’ back behind the desk, as well as introducing ‘new voices’ for the first time! 🤩

Of course, Fusefm Mourne will be broadcasting alongside our Hairtlan Festival, where we will be keeping you all informed about everything Ulster-Scots during our two week festival, culminating on the 11th July! 🎆

Step back in time at **Clifton Street Graveyard** this Thursday, 12th March 2026, for a unique Ulster-Scots Living History Event

Join us for a special afternoon where the past comes alive as **10 costumed actors** bring to life the fascinating stories, voices, and traditions of the Ulster-Scots community. Through dramatic performances and storytelling among the historic graves, you’ll meet characters inspired by the people who shaped our shared heritage.

🕰 **Date:** Thursday 12th March 2026
⏰ **Time:** 2:30pm – 3:15pm *(Adult session)*
📍 **Location:** Clifton Street Graveyard
🎭 **Featuring:** 10 live actors portraying historical Ulster-Scots figures
📖 **Experience:** Storytelling, living history, and heritage brought to life

This **2:30pm performance is specially for adult audiences**, following earlier sessions in the day dedicated to visiting school groups.

Walk through this remarkable historic site and discover the lives, struggles, humour, and legacy of the Ulster-Scots people in an immersive outdoor performance set among the graves of Belfast’s past.

This event is **delivered by Small Steps and Duncairn Ulster-Scots Society**, working together to share and celebrate Ulster-Scots heritage. Funded by Belfast City Council

Bring a friend, share the experience, and enjoy history brought to life where it happened.
