The European Association for Behaviour Analysis (EABA) have provided clarification to address the confusion that arises when policy decisions are based on an isolated reading of the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines

The EABA state that behaviour analysts are specifically trained and competent in NICE-recommended procedures, and there is, therefore, no obvious reason as to why they should not be included in all autism support teams.

Parents seeking statutory support may wish to bring this to the attention of their child’s care manager and advocate for a behaviour analyst to support them and their child
