Action Ability Belfast 'Supporting people with disabilities to live included, independent lives'

At Action Ability Belfast "Our aim is to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities into the community and to support the development of their natural abilities." We are a pan disability support charity that seeks to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities into the community through a community development and needs lead approach. Since 1998, Action Ability Belfast has been to the forefront in developing high quality responsive services to meet the needs of local people with disabilities and their families. The project has been actively campaigning for the inclusion of people with disabilities and ensuring that they receive the support they need within ordinary structures of education, health, employment, and social services. Over the past number of years our services have grown from strength to strength, and we continually strive in excellence to ensure that the services we provide are of the highest quality, responsive and represent the best interests of people with disabilities. Through socially inclusive needs-led community-based programmes, we empower and support local people with disabilities through offering an extensive range of services, on a one to one or group basis, such as:
• Advocacy Service
• Befriending service
• Carers Information and Support
• Floating Support
• Social Support Projects
• Summer Activity Programme
• Volunteering and Peer Volunteering Opportunities

🎉 What an evening we had! 🎉

The turnout was amazing, the craic was mighty, and the competition was fierce!

A few lucky folks even walked away with some fantastic raffle prizes too. 🤩

Most importantly, we raised an incredible £1,576 for our services, and we honestly can't believe it!

We can't put into words how much we appreciate the support from each and every person who came along. The difference this will make to a small charity like ours is truly amazing. ❤️

The funds raised will help us provide much-needed programmes and activities for the people we support; opportunities that we simply couldn't afford without your generosity.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported us. We hope you had as much fun as we did because we're already planning the next one! 👀

A special thank you to Part B for their continued support and for funding our fantastic quiz host, DJ Chris Armstrong, as well as our winner's cash prize. 🏆

We'd also like to thank Union Street Bar for providing the venue, for making us feel so welcome, and for their incredible hospitality throughout the night.

Our lovely befriending team, Leanne and Tanya, were out and about at Belfast Met’s Health and Social Care Fair, spreading the word about the fantastic work we do here at Action Ability Belfast! 🌟

It was a great opportunity to meet new people, raise awareness of our befriending service and highlight the importance of friendship, connection and community. 🫶

A big well done to Leanne and Tanya for representing AAB! 💙👏
