Strengthening the pathway 📈

There have been a series of strategic changes to the women’s national performance pathway, creating greater alignment from age 11 through to the senior international team 🙌

Gail Redmond has been appointed Lead Coach of the Northern Ireland Women’s Under-19 national team, following a period covering both the Women’s Under-17 and Under-19 programmes. Current National Academy Manager Danielle McDowell-Tuffey will lead the expanded programme, overseeing both the academy and the WU17 international team as Lead Coach.

From developing football skills and building confidence to making new friends and enjoying plenty of fun and games, it’s been brilliant to see so many children aged 5–11 getting active and enjoying the beautiful game.

A huge thank you to the staff, our coaches and everyone involved in making the camps such a success 🙌
