Amos got his own art work this week
Many thanks to his special friend who lives next door. Elsie aged 5. ❤️

Fosters and Des have been trialling different food for the past few weeks.
Not a huge success. 🥲
Although they seemed to enjoy, they weren’t that bothered and strangely were still very hungry, despite it being a very good protein source. So not a winner in this furry house.
Back to the Gourmet Pate which always leaves a clean plate. 🍽️

Cat mum and dad here 👋
We’ve had a well earned rest in the land of cats 🐾 Egypt 🇪🇬
Ancient Egyptians deeply revered cats, viewing them as sacred symbols and earthly vessels of the cat-headed goddess Bastet.
Bastet, the goddess of home, fertility, and protection.Killing a cat, even by accident, was a major crime that could result in death.Families shaved their eyebrows as a sign of deep mourning when a pet cat died.

Fun and relaxation were in order and of course petting the hotel furbabies.

All the fosters and Des were well looked after whilst we were away by our friendly and reliable cat sitter Donna and apart from being a bit spooked when we got back at 2am and disturbed their sleep all have accepted us back into their lives and forgiven us for going away for a week

What I find most satisfying as a foster cat mum - seeing the fosters sleep. Not just any sleep as they sleep a lot but a deep sleep. 💤. One where you lift their paw, they don’t move and it flops back. Snoring, dreaming and twitching - it’s the best feeling knowing their minds and bodies know there safe 🥰

BEN’S BEEN ADOPTED
Sunday 16th August Ben (Ben Ben) went to his furever home 🏠
He’s living in Dunstable with 3 other cats and is adjusting to his new life. His new owner Sally is also adjusting as Ben has been a bit stressed but both are working through it.
Purrs n Licks look forward to hearing about Ben’s new adventures.

MARY update
Mary what can I say she’s an absolute pleasure to foster. After her entropion surgery she needed a follow up vet appointment to flush one of her eyes out and a short course of Metacam. Poor Mary though does not travel well. Mouth breathing and very very stressed so short journeys only for this girl. Mary is extremely playful, running up and down the stairs and very sassy and loves to put her bum in Amos’s face 🤣🤣🤣. Very confident young lady who has no issues with other cats. She’s ready for adoption and will make a lovely companion for someone.

BEN update
Ben has had a bit of a journey recently
Ben took a liking to the artificial flowers in the house and possibly hit his eye not 100% sure but he ended up with a very weepy eye. He also developed cystitis and a bad belly. After a short vet examination he was prescribed a variety of medication. Ben was crated for a few days so he could rest up and made a full recovery.
Cat mom though came off worse as after an attempt to clean up his bottom a trip to a&e was required for a tetanus jab.
Most importantly though Ben has now been adopted !

AMOS update
Amos continues to thrive in foster care. He free roams the house 🏠 with resident Des.
No hissing or fighting. Amos loves to catch a few rays 🌞 and during the recent heatwave lapped up the warmth, seeking out the sunny spots in the house. He has a favourite spot which is on the stairs are and favours the 3rd and 4th stair.
