SAYes Mentoring

SAYes Mentoring SAYes works with under-served youth aged 14-32 to support them in their transition to independence.

SAYes Mentoring finds and trains mentors, and matches them with young people in need of mentorship (mentees). Mentees meet with their mentors on a video call for 1 hour, once a week, for 9 months. We are currently running programmes for mentees in South Africa and London; and recruiting mentors from all over the world.

Mentorship changes both people in the relationship.

For Maggie, mentoring has been "grounding" helping her become more open-minded and understanding of different life experiences.

For Caitlin, it has been a source of support, encouragement, and excitement about the future.

This is the power of mentoring: growth doesn't happen in only one direction.

At SAYes, mentors share their time, experience, and encouragement with care-experienced young people while gaining valuable perspective themselves.

When we invest in mentoring, we invest in stronger futures for young people and stronger communities for all of us.

Interested in partnering with SAYes or becoming a mentor? We'd love to connect.

From London to the world 🌍

Last week, our UK Programmes Lead, Natika, and SAYes Youth Ambassador, Chelsea, had the incredible opportunity to represent SAYes Mentoring at SXSW London — joining conversations with innovators, changemakers, creatives, and leaders from across the globe.

The experience was a powerful reminder that young people belong in the rooms where ideas are shared, futures are shaped, and change begins. Chelsea’s presence as a youth ambassador reflects what we believe at SAYes: when young people are given the right support, mentorship, and opportunities, they don’t just participate in conversations about the future — they help lead them.

We’re proud to see our team and young people representing the power of mentorship on an international stage.

What does mentorship look like when it works?

For Youseline, it meant discovering that she already had the pieces she needed—she simply needed someone to help her put them together.

For Colleen, it reinforced the importance of supporting young people as they make choices based on their own growth, happiness, and aspirations.

Through SAYes' Global E-Mentorship Programme, mentors and mentees build meaningful relationships across borders, creating opportunities for reflection, confidence-building, and growth.

Every successful match is a reminder of what's possible when young people have access to consistent support and someone who believes in their potential.

If you're interested in supporting mentoring opportunities for care-experienced young people or becoming a mentor, we'd love to hear from you.

This June, as we celebrate Community and Community Building, we have something very special to share: say hello to our very first cohort of SAYes Mentor Ambassadors! 💙

These amazing people have been part of the SAYes Mentoring comunity as mentors, and now they’re taking on a new role helping us spread the word, inspire others, and grow our community.

We can’t wait for you to get to know them. Over the next two weeks, we’ll be introducing each ambassador one by one. Watch this space! ✨

A little sunshine, great company, and good coffee ☀️ that's a SAYes meetup! 💙

Last week, our Programmes Leads Natika and Bridget organised a mentor gathering in Lisbon 🇵🇹 at the lovely Instant Crunch Cafe. It was an afternoon of real connection, great conversations, and community building.

We are so proud of the incredible people who make up the SAYes Mentoring family near and far. 🌍
