SAYes Mentoring

SAYes Mentoring SAYes works with under-served youth aged 14-32 to support them in their transition to independence.

SAYes Mentoring finds and trains mentors, and matches them with young people in need of mentorship (mentees). Mentees meet with their mentors on a video call for 1 hour, once a week, for 9 months. We are currently running programmes for mentees in South Africa and London; and recruiting mentors from all over the world.

So many young people from struggling communities lack guidance during major life transitions, like leaving school, starting university, or launching a career.

This is why SAYes Mentoring exists. They pair young people facing material and social disadvantages with trained volunteer mentors for dedicated one-on-one support.

With their e-mentorship program, location is not a barrier for those living in rural areas.

Mentors are trained to listen, guide, and help mentees navigate key life areas, from education, career, housing and emotional well-being.

With a high percentage of mentees saying that having a mentor changed their lives, SAYes has earned a 10/10 on our !

Every child in care deserves someone in their corner. Not as a favour, not as a pilot programme that might lose funding next year, but as a right.
A new UK petition is calling for exactly that: a statutory right to trauma-informed one-to-one mentorship and guaranteed mental health support for every child in care, extending to care leavers up to age 25, funded by government.
We've seen what consistent mentoring does for young people navigating the care system. It shouldn't be left to chance. It should be guaranteed.
If you're a UK resident, please sign and share. 10,000 signatures gets a government response. 100,000 gets it debated in Parliament.
