SAYes Mentoring

SAYes Mentoring SAYes works with under-served youth aged 14-32 to support them in their transition to independence.

SAYes Mentoring finds and trains mentors, and matches them with young people in need of mentorship (mentees). Mentees meet with their mentors on a video call for 1 hour, once a week, for 9 months. We are currently running programmes for mentees in South Africa and London; and recruiting mentors from all over the world.

We are so proud of these two.
Youseline and Unis started their journeys with SAYes two years ago and now theyve traveled Madrid to speak at the Summit on the power of youth mentorship, sharing a panel with representatives from team and leading experts from around the world.
They showed up, they spoke up, and they absolutely owned it.
This is what mentorship makes possible. And these two are just getting started.

It's not too late to register for Making Connection! We are so excited to hear from The Care Experienced Movement co-founder and co-lead (and SAYes alum), Isabelle Kirkham! We'll discuss how her experience in care impacted her career, how she's creating spaces for care-experienced people, and get some insight into her research on care-experience and how care-experience is defined.

A lot of mentoring programmes are well-intentioned.

Fewer are evidence-based.

At SAYes, our mentors don't give advice because your advice might be wrong. Instead, they're trained in active listening, perspective sharing, Socratic questioning, and structured advocacy. 24 hours of training before a single session begins.

We have a research psychologist on our team. We track attendance every week. We have transition specialists supporting every match. And we measure outcomes across mental health, education, employment and civic engagement.

This isn't befriending. It's formal, structured mentorship, and there's a rigorous science behind it.

Mentors and mentees meet for one hour a week, for nine months. And the results are extraordinary.
