The team at The Royal Marsden give so much to the people in their care.

Last thursday, RRT Sutton wanted to give something back, 1,300 hot meals and drinks served to staff and clinicians across the hospital, as a small but heartfelt thank you for everything they do.

October was all about saying thank you. ☕

From A&E teams and firefighters to construction workers in Birmingham, 29,300 meals were served across 205 events, including five emergency call-outs.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of your local fire station? 🚒

Families found out at Gosport Fire Station ’s open day, meeting the crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports firefighters and their families for life.

With 336 meals served by our Portsmouth volunteers, nobody went home hungry! 🍔

Many hands make a cleaner village! 🌿

Local residents joined Thorrington Parish Council for a community litter pick, helping to keep the village looking its best. Afterwards, everyone warmed up with coffee and cake at the Village Hall, served by our Colchester volunteers. ☕🍰

When police, fire, ambulance and Sellafield’s own emergency teams came together for a major emergency exercise at the Sellafield site, our Lancaster volunteers were there to keep everyone fuelled, serving around 200 meals throughout the day. 🚒🚓🚑

One responder told our team, “You don’t realise how fantastic you lot are.” And another said it was the best burger they’d ever had! 🍔

Thank you to every responder who trains so hard to keep our communities safe. 💙

Emergency response depends on preparation, and preparation takes time and energy.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity held a two-day training event at Swindon Fire Station, and RRT Swindon volunteers were glad to serve 80 gourmet burger meals to the emergency services staff taking part.

When every second counts, the hours spent training make all the difference.

During A&E Appreciation Week, a coffee and a slice of cake reminded the A&E team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust just how valued they are, even on the hardest days.

A major incident doesn’t come with a warning. That’s why exercises like this one matter.

Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service ran Exercise Ravenhurst at the Old Hellesdon Hospital site in Norwich this week, a large-scale training event putting crews through their paces across a full operational scenario.

For the firefighters involved, it was a long and demanding day. Keeping teams sustained through that kind of exercise is where RRT can help, and our Norwich volunteers were delighted to serve gourmet burger meals to crews throughout.

The better prepared they are, the safer our communities are. Thank you, Norfolk FRS.

Ashgate Hospice’s Superhero Walk raised vital funds and awareness for the work of the hospice, and the people of Chesterfield showed up in force.

RRT were grateful to serve on the day. Events like this remind us why community matters.
