πŸŒΏπŸ‘• SUSTAINABLE FASHION WEEK IS COMING TO BATH! πŸ‘•πŸŒΏ

We’re very excited to announce that Climate Hub will be the official Bath Hub for Sustainable Fashion Week 2026! πŸŽ‰

Running from 26th September – 4th October, Sustainable Fashion Week is a nationwide celebration of a better relationship with our clothes β€” sharing the knowledge, skills and inspiration we need to move away from fast fashion and towards a fairer, more creative and sustainable fashion future.

Here in Bath, we’ll be bringing SFW right into the heart of the city at Climate Hub, with a programme of activities exploring repair, reuse, creativity, mental health, activism and the stories behind what we wear. πŸ§΅β™»οΈπŸ’š

Our programme includes:

πŸ‘• Wearing Resistance: Clothing, Activism and Change β€” an exhibition exploring how clothing can be used to speak out and create change

πŸͺ‘ Visible mending, repair and upcycling β€” practical opportunities to give well-loved clothes a new lease of life

🌍 Men's Threads of Resistance: connecting fashion with men's mental health, climate, community and collective action!

And there’s more to come! Dates and further details of events on their way!...

πŸ“… 26th September – 4th October 2026

We’re delighted to be joining communities across the country taking part in SFW 2026 and helping make sustainable fashion accessible, practical and fun.

🌦️ How do we make sure climate adaptation works for everyone?

This important new report from ACCESS and the Government Office for Science highlights a vital message: adapting to climate change isn’t only a technical challenge – it’s a social one.

Putting people at the centre of UK climate adaptation and resilience explores how social science can help create fairer, more inclusive and more effective responses, shaped around the different ways climate risks affect people and communities.

A timely and thought-provoking read for anyone interested in building a more resilient future. 🌱

🚲🚌 What’s on at the Climate Hub this August? πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈβš‘

For this quarter, our displays are exploring sustainable transport – from walking, cycling and public transport to the arrival of new electric buses in our region.

Pop into the Hub and tell us how you like to travel, what would help you make more sustainable journeys, or how you’ve been coping with the recent heatwaves. We’d love to hear your ideas and share useful tips with others! 🌿

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸš²πŸšŒπŸš† The way we move through our day shapes more than just our journey.

Transport is still the UK’s largest-emitting sector, responsible for 31% of greenhouse gas emissions in 2025. But it’s also an area where small shifts can bring wide benefits β€” from cleaner air to healthier streets and more connected communities. πŸŒπŸ’š

Walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport all play a role in a more sustainable transport system. They won’t suit every trip or every person, but they open up different ways of getting around that can work alongside car travel.

There are lots of ways to mix up how we travel β€” a short walk instead of a drive, a familiar cycle route, a bus or train into town, or sharing a lift when it makes sense.

What does sustainable travel look like in your day-to-day life? We’d love to hear your ideas below πŸ‘‡

🌱 Could you help shape the future of Climate Hub?

We’re looking for 1–2 new trustees to bring their ideas, skills and experience to our friendly and committed Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to help guide a local charity with big ambitions for community-led action on climate and nature in Bath and beyond 🌍

We’d particularly love to hear from people with experience in:

πŸ’š Fundraising and developing funding opportunities
πŸ“± Social media and digital technology
🀝 Partnerships and collaboration
πŸŽ“ Education and learning

The voluntary role involves around 6–8 hours per month as a minimum, including monthly trustee meetings. The role offers a flexible mix of remote and in-person involvement, although attendance at Board meetings in Bath is preferred.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before. Energy, thoughtful judgement, collaboration and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion are just as important.

Interested? Email [email protected] to arrange an informal chat or request the full role description.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this opportunity! 🌿
