When Martin sat down to write his Will, he thought about the moments that mattered most.

The RUH had been there for his family through all of life's ups and downs, from his wife's treatment to the joy of welcoming a baby granddaughter.

Martin said "The RUH has supported my family when we've needed it most. I couldn't think of a better cause."

A massive congratulations to the fantastic Sarah and Vikki who completed their epic trike challenge at the weekend.🚴 Not only did they trike all the way from Brighton to Weymouth (whilst dressed as Mario and Luigi of course), they also raised over an incredible £800! 🎊

A massive thank you to Laura Farion and her son Shay for raising an amazing £2,090 for the Breast Unit at RUH Bath 🎉

Laura, who had treatment for breast cancer at the hospital, organised lots of fundraising events with her son, to give back to the Breast Unit team. This included a charity football match and prize auction at Bradford Town FC, a bingo with an auction, and two meat raffles. ⚽

The charity football match took place at Bradford Town F.C. where Shay is a player and youth team coach. All the players wore special pink football kit for the match and the game ended in a draw on a rainy day in June (yes rain, remember what that is?!) 🏆

Laura and Shay came into the RUH last week to present the cheque to the Breast Unit team. In total, they raised £4,800 split between RUH Bath and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thank you, Laura and Shay, you are incredible! ❤️

This month RUHX My Thank You had it's 2000th message of thanks to pass onto RUH staff.... this time for Grace (pictured below) in Radiology:

"Thank you to you and your colleague for such an easy MRI scan experience today. It was my first one and have a general phobia of hospitals but you made everything simple and relaxed so thank you!"

The scheme, that's been running since 2024, has helped RUHX support the RUH with:

- Over 2025 heartfelt messages of thanks for patient facing RUH team members
- 1600 new supporter patients or family members, who RUHX can now communicate with about how to join our support of the RUH
- Over £2,000 of initial donations in addition to the thank you messages
- An incredible 250 thank you messages for the Maternity team alone. With Children's team and Emergency Care close behind.

A massive thank you to two local businesses who have been instrumental in helping our fantastic charity 'Mario' trike riders prepare for their epic ride from Brighton to Weymouth (which is happening this weekend!) 🚲💗

Grant Mallinson, owner of Spartans Combat Sports Chippenham has not only advised Sarah and Vikki on training 🎽and nutrition 🍎 ahead of their ride but has also allowed them to use his gym completely for free! 💗

Making sure they stay comfortable and supported whilst on the ride itself, Chloe Stewart, founder of Clo Clo Fragrance has put together some fantastic hampers to ensure everyone stays comfortable during their rest breaks in between racking up the miles. 🛁💗

Everyone enjoyed a slice of happiness yesterday at Julia and Angela’s annual ‘Coffee and Cake’ day 🍰 in the beautiful gardens 🪻of Stocks Cottage in Kington Langley.

Over the past 4 years, Julia and Angela have raised over £9,000 for Breast Care at RUH Bath through their Coffee and Cake days. And incredibly, yesterday’s bake-tastic event raised £6,700 more for the unit.

“It was such a brilliant day, the atmosphere was so warm and wonderful,” said Julia.

Together with friends and family, everyone helped to make the day extra special by baking cakes, serving coffee, arranging flowers, running stalls and organising a fun gnome hunt!

Thank you, Julia and Angela. You are both truly amazing! ❤️
