We recently received this lovely note from one of the pupils at Oakley Junior School, who wrote: “You never know the story behind the people that need your daily resources.”

They are right, every visitor who comes through our doors has a story, and every donation helps us be there for them. Yes, your donation has helped! And notes like this make our day!

This note reflects the kindness we see from so many schools and children across our community. To every school and child who has donated this harvest, thank you. You are helping to make our community a kinder place.

We are grateful to all our donors and supporters, but we want to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to The Foodbank Angels. 💚

The Foodbank Angels have been visiting us with a donation almost every single week since August last year, and each time they make the effort to choose items from our most needed list. That thoughtfulness makes a real difference. It means we can keep our shelves stocked with exactly what people need, when they need it.

To everyone at The Foodbank Angels of Southampton, thank you for your kindness, your consistency and your care for our community. We could not do this without you.

A BIG thank you to everyone for your ongoing harvest donations!

Especially all the local schools and churches who have held collection events or assemblies, or have these planned.

We have had to head over to Tesco Chineham to collect extra cardboard trays to store everything in! Thank you Jane and the team at Tesco for your help with this!

This World Mental Health Day, we’re promoting our local mental health charity, Andover Mind.

Andover Mind provides critical mental health and wellbeing support across Hampshire and boarders, with a wellbeing centre and Safe Haven in Basingstoke.

Every year, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem.

Andover Mind’s focus is simple: supporting local people with their mental health, when they need it most, at the heart of the community.

Support better mental health in your community today, by supporting Andover Mind on World Mental Health Day.

Thank you for your generous ongoing donations as well as for the harvest donations we have been receiving! 💚

If you are unsure what to choose from our harvest list, why not go for tinned meat, tinned fruit or puddings?

Thank you!

We are delighted at the harvest festival donations beginning to come in from schools, nurseries, and churches! Harvest is an essential time for us to get the donations we need to keep us going for the rest of the year!

So far you have raised 1793kg of food and essential supplies and we are hoping for plenty more to come!

Thank you everyone who has donated as well as to those of you who are in the process of collecting now or soon!

These pictures are from some of the nurseries who have been collecting for us. The children were visited by one of our volunteers to chat about the Foodbank, who we are and what we do. They were also a great help bringing the tins to the car for us to take back!

At Basingstoke Foodbank we don't just provide food support! There is lots more on offer to help our visitors move out of crisis and access extra support.
