Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation We support the most disadvantaged communities across our region through grant-making.

HIWCF was set up as an independent charitable Foundation in 2002 by local people to connect donors with the local causes and charities that they care about in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We now support over 40 fund holders - individuals, businesses and other organisations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and have distributed over £5 million over the last five years. We are a team of lo

cal people from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight committed to helping our voluntary and community groups to support disadvantaged and vulnerable people across the County. We have a strong board of Trustee's with a diverse range of skills and experience who all contribute to the work of the Foundation supported on a daily basis by our professional staff. We are lucky to have the support of many influential and respected individuals from across Hampshire including Dame Mary Fagan, DCVO, JP, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, The Lord Chidgey, The Rt Hon Earl of Portsmouth, DL and Alan Titchmarsh MBE, VMH, DL.

At HIWCF we love any opportunity to get together with the community organisations we support, and introduce them to our supporters and fundholders to showcase the amazing work they do to help their local communities. At today's Seeing is Believing visit in Yateley, we heard from Vision 4 Youth who run a number of clubs and 1:1 support for young people in Yateley and surrounding areas, Fellowship Educational Society who support community members from different ethnic backgrounds in developing skills, education and social integration and Hounds for Heroes who provide trained assistance dogs for those serving, or who have served, in the Armed Forces and Emergency Services and have been injured.

Today's event was an important reminder of the vital impact grassroots and small organisations are having within their local communities, helping to transform lives in multiple ways. Thanks to those involved for sharing some incredible stories and to those who came and listened!

We were delighted by the conversation between HIWCF Ambassador Alan Titchmarsh and BBC's Matt Chorley at the HIWCF Summer Soiree last week.

The event, sponsored by Sarasin & Partners, bought together fundholders, supporters and professional advisers for an opportunity to showcase how local generosity can help communities thrive and create lasting change for those who need it most.

If you would like to learn more about HIWCF's philanthropic services, upcoming events, or how we can support you or your clients on their giving journey, please get in touch with our team at [email protected] or contact HIWCF CEO Jacqui Scott: [email protected].

At HIWCF, we are proud to make charitable grants that support small, grassroots organisations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight 🌱

We fund the kind of organisations which are not always well known, but who work tirelessly in their local communities, providing the kind of 'shoulder to shoulder' support that really does transform lives, often with teams of dedicated volunteers 💪🏼

To all the incredible volunteers who help our communities thrive - we are so grateful for your work! 💚
